I like to imagine the cracks are filled with the corpses of billions of brine shrimp.

Love it, looks a lot like the Waddensea shores when it's been very dry.

Beautiful photo! I feel the dark sky with the light on the horizon really complements the other parts of the photo here!

This is gorgeous, great job!
I'm going to be in Salt Lake later this month, any chance you could recommend some good locations for shooting? Thanks!

Heh, only a day and I was actually there earlier this week! I got some nice shots from at Antelope Island at sunrise. But I'm hoping to go back soon, so I'd love any recommendations you might have!

Well I love spending time in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon. If you don't have much time, the Albion Basin is a great place for a quick hike. A couple of good day hikes if you have more time would be Lake Blanche in BIg Cottonwood, or Red Pine Lake in Little. They both have quite a bit of elevation gain so be ready for some excersize. If you don't want to get into the canyons, Antelope Island is probably my favorite place to shoot.

Really neat, that background would make a killer pano if you shot it by itself. Looks like a dust spot near the upper right though?

Good catch Pete, I'll fix it. I did get a pano of the storm and mountains, just gotta find some time to put it together.
