Template by PerfectZanderSanchezReady for a bunch of Unknowns in a good way to pierce through your defenses? Well, here ya go...
#6: Dude, That's My Ghost! - Well, this is one of the least likely things Canada has put out considered underrated and good, this was the first of its kind during the 2010s! (Chuck's Choice 2nd, Mysticons 3rd) Here's the story: Spencer Wright, a kid living in Beverly Heights, is an amateur horror film maker who one day, is greeted by the ghost of former boy band heartthrob, Billy Joe Cobra. Ever since then, they've been getting into supernatural hijinks and often success in their amateur horror vids. Just goes to show you - the animation design may seem bad, but actually has quality once you watch it.
#5: Polar Bear Cafe - If you wanna see all of the humor in a Slice of Life series, either watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya... or this gem. Yes, the animals do talk in this series and it's hilarious! Polar Bear Cafe revolves around a Canadian white bear that quits his boring job and starts a cafeteria near a zoo. He loves telling tall tales and always brags about himself. According to him, he was picked up by a human couple who owns a diner while he was drifting around on an iceberg. Though he has lost all contact with his Canadian family, he has discovered a new home in serving the diners' clientele, thanks to the kind couple. His cafe is an embodiment of his personality. The place is always packed with many regulars, animals and humans, who are drawn by his charismatic magnetism. His usual friends are a panda bear who is useless in work and is proud of it, but remains steadfast, and a penguin who is a regular customer who is an understanding voice to the jokes this series has to offer. Never before have the terms "Slice of Life anime" and "funny animals" went in harmony in the same way, but my advice? Come for the cute, stay for the puns!
#4: Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 - Based off of 2 OVAs which were separate of a classic version in 1988 and 1991, this version in 1998 is proabably a complete twist of excellence combining the two - because this is clearly better. If you couldn't tell, this takes place in Tokyo in the year 2040. After an earthquake nearly destroyed Tokyo, Genom Corporation rebuilt the city with mechanical beings called Boomers, and ensured prosperity of the city. But... Genom has a few bugs in the system which no one knows about. Occasionally, the Boomers go rogue and will wreak havoc on almost anyone and anything. Lina Yamazaki just moved to start a job in Tokyo, and is really interested in the Knight Sabers - a group of vigilante rogue Boomer hunters, who are all women in sleek robotic suits. Even though rumors are heard throughout, there have been no televised or printed evidence seen or heard of them. Even online! Nevertheless, Lina decides join the Knight Sabers after a run-in with a rogue Boomer. She is then joined by a rocker chick named Priss and an 18-year-old policewoman named Nene. If you haven't seen it yet, make sure you're in you're high school years because of that rating of TVMA. Still, you'll probably get a kick out of this because of it being Funimation.
#3: Tommy and Oscar - If you want an obscure 90s cartoon, the States gave us plenty of those. But this series is actually one of the first series Iginio Straffi, the mind of Rainbow SRL, the creator of Winx Club and other great hits, created. Hey, ya gotta start somewhere! Here's the plot - One day, a kid named Tommy, who lives with his genius professor uncle Leonard, finds a pink space alien who crashed his ship in Tommy's backyard. The alien's name is revealed to be Oscar, and oddly enough - Oscar eats exactly what any unlikely alien like him would eat - music! Only in cartoons. The two go on bizarre adventures, alongside Peter, a music shop owner, and Yukari, Tommy's classmate and friend who is a self-trained martial artist. Occasionally, on those adventures, they encounter Cesar, a corrupt bigwig businessman with his two imbicile-like gorilla henchmen, Ork and Dork. This is probably a comical show if you can get the handle of it the right way, despite having an almost similar animation style to late 90s monarchs Humongous Entertainment. And this is one of the rarely watched series, even Silent-Sid included it in his Rare, Obscure, Old, Unknown list of cartoons! Be glad this was dug out!
#2: Space Dandy - "Space Dandy - He's a dandy guy... in space. He combs the galaxy like his pompadour on his hunt for aliens. Planet after planet, he discovers bizarre new creatures both friendly and not. These are his spectacular adventures..." If you haven't watched this, you must've been living under a rock! This was made by a fellow writer from Cowboy Bebop - hence why it's got a lot of funny bits for such a quality 26-ep series! Anyways, Dandy searches for alien creatures with his robot buddy QT. The problem is, when he catches an alien, he learns the harsh truth of it already being discovered, and often gets rejected for it. One day, while hanging at their favorite intergalactic restaurant chain, Boobies, they run into a Betelgeusian alien named Meow (as if you didn't get enough Betelgeusian life forms from my review of Hitchhiker's Guide...) and they are stuck with him since. They go on wacky adventures which even though they don't connect, they are still quality. Trust me Regulas314 has reviewed some episodes from this series in a good point and is bound to be one to remember. So if you're willing to watch it, by all means, baby... you gotta!
#1: Braceface - Started this showcase with a Canadian series, might as well end it with one! This is a good series that deals with teen life and being yourself. It's still a favorite by several reviewers like Zander and me. In fact, I learned this series from him! Here's how it goes: For Sharon Spitz, everything was normal with her being her introverted self and she gets asked to the dance by Alden Jones, the so-called jock of the school. She accepts, but that changes when her therapist mother implies reverse psychology and therefore, Sharon is forced to get braces. Things go from bad to worse when she starts repelling light off them, intercepting telephone signals from them, and even having a literal magnetic personality. She fears she may never date Alden again. Which is true, but in reality, Alden doesn't like Nina Harper, the girl he's dating. Nina's a bitch for sure. But social problems make you feel that life is out to get you but you have to remain strong and rely on friends. Like Sharon has Maria Wong (the tomboy), and Conner McKenzie (the hypo-allergenic geek). Life has never been the same for her ever since. And everyday is something new in life. Even if you weren't mocked for having braces in middle school, you should learn something from this, and consider watching this. By far the best series put out by Nelvana that isn't Nick Jr. related!

I agree with you on the number 1 spot, Braceface has been the best series to ever air on Teletoon, it even shows positive messages about reality and on how bad choices could get in trouble, it was also the best example of a perfect Canadian cartoon and I even named it the #1 best Canadian cartoon of all time.
