Since I'm doing book covers and illustrations for money, I feel somehow obligated to pay for the program.
I have the student version for 10€ a month so its "affordable", but I really hate this subscription bullshit and have them rather go back to "buy to use".  Its really sad that there is no real competiotion for Photoshop, so Adobe does what they want with the prices

Well that's why I had to search long and hard for a cheap version of CS6. Went to eBay and found the extended version for only 200 US dollars which is a miracle, no need to pay every month!!!!  CC isn't a very big upgrade fron CS6 so I'll stay on it for the foreseeable future. You should do the same.
