Do you recall me mentioning in one of my previous journals I had been trying to work on some gift art for the various awesome people I've met/encountered in the online world? Well, here's one of them for Irene Koh AKA prom-knight on Tumblr + kohquette on TwitterShe's the Artist who drew the Legend of Korra: Turf Wars comics, and I just wanted to do something nice for her as a way of saying thank you for all the hard work that she's done. Well, that, and to counter-attack some of the c**p she’s had to deal with (a Pox on whoever leaked the Kiss before Part One’s Release!).
So, here's a little fanart of her Korra OC who officially became a part of the story: Jargala Omo, leader of the Creeping Crystal Triad, looking ready to wreck some s**t! Regardless of what little nit picks I may have (I'm pretty sure there's some unfortunate Pro Marker splatter which I couldn't fix ) I'm so happy I did this. It's certainly one of the more dynamic poses I've ever attempted.
Can I just say how much I adored the idea of Crystal Bending? I wonder if she can Metal Bend too? Reckon she'd love a chain to go with that ball-of-spikes

Hehe, dangerous combo indeed. What can I say, guess I got a weakness for women who look like they could beat the s**t out of me if I tried to flirt with them.
Thank you. I really wanted to get out of my comfort zone with a pose that had a bit more motion and personality into it.
Oh, I'll keep it up (making art), but when people can actually see it is anyone's guess... because of my situation living at the serpent's pit but my computer and scanner remaining at my parents until I can sort out this interent situation

I just really wanted to do something nice for her, and when I learned Jargala was her character, it was a no-brainer.

Yeah, I think it does make sense. IMO that's how we as artists improve and expand on our range of abilities; trying things we've never worked with before, and then keep doing them
Although I have to admit, working within the confines of a A4 paper and thus having to reduce the size of features doesn't help
