In continuing my classic manner of inefficient responses to simple problems, I noticed that my old mouse-pad was starting to get pretty ratty and messed up. But instead of just buying a new plain black one, I was like “Hey, there’s like a million website now that custom print things. Why not just put my art on a new one???”
So I pretty much made this cute little drink-themed illustration a specific dimension to match the ones for the pad and ordered myself one. It was only 12-13 dollars with shipping but it’s a powerful piece to have on my desk with me. Seeing my art looking good in print is a big motivator to keep moving with my work and inch closer to getting comics going to they can eventually go into print.
I like the idea of having little accent items with my own stuff on them so I’ll probably get a phone case with some of my art on it once I upgrade my phone and I’m actually working on a piece for a custom front plate on my car (my state doesn’t require front ones). SO IF YOU’RE EVER IN SOUTH CAROLINA AND YOU SEE A MOSS GREEN KIA SOUL DRIVING AROUND WITH MY ART ON THE FRONT PLATE THAT’S PROBABLY ME (or a member of my family borrowing my car).
For those wondering I used Zazzle for the mouse-pad, and though they might not be the most heavily artist-focused print website out there, the quality of the print and the mouse-pad is really good and honestly that’s all you need for an object that simple hahaha.
