So yeah, I normally don't do colored works but this one actually made it out ok. This started out as a sketch actually and completely evolved into a viable work. I wanted to give her this initial "appeal" but at the same time instill an uneasy feeling.
At first she started out as one of those Sphinxes that guards city's and asks riddles and what-not, but I chucked that idea. So now she's more of a chimera human/beast hybrid that just wanders 'round the local forest and eats folks, judging by the poem, most active in fall.
She sleeps it off in the winter and spring and wakes up mid-summer.
She's not just a throw away character and I want to use her for something, but only when I figure out what. Heck she doesn't even have a name yet. Anyway, enjoy!

pretty cool yet this is no where near a chimera a chimera is a three headed creature with the heads of a lion, ram, and a serpent still a nice peice of work

Well that is the traditional definition of a Chimera, which is its orgins in the Greek mythos. But a chimera can also be defined as any creature that consists of an unnatural or unholy combination of two or more creatures (such as this, one of the most obvious ones being a human...if at all vaughly haha).
Also a much lesser used definition is a dream or goal that's very lofty or unrealistic, a sort of pipe dream or strange imaginative event that could never happen in the real world, and is thus impossible (much like the creature itself).

I had fun with the feet and the hands, and thanks, I did spend longer than usual coloring and rendering this than I normally do.
I am a closet fan of contemporary classical music and the song to me is light and charming but with a sort of "darker" underlying tempo that I thought suited her.

Different type of Chimera. There have been hundreds of variations of the creature besides the classic original model.
This one is the simple unholy union of human and animal/beast.

Excellent design. I really hope you do use her for something in the future because she seems like she'd just be an interesting character. Her hair and eyes are alluring, her face and smile are mischievous, and yet her teeth, body, and claws are very menacing. Also the art style for the character and background are cartoonishly scary, like something you'd see in a very dark children's book.

I love that you made her so charming, and yet thoroughly intimidating at the same time. The fur (lines and color) turned out very well.
At first I was a little confused as to why the lower half of the body used warmer shading than the top half, but then I noticed the subtle gradient you put in between it. Very interesting choice.
I really hope you find something to do with her. She is marvelous!
