Description
A revival of an old picture I did 3 years ago: [link]What was once an illustration then is now a character in a whole story I have set up, but I won't bore you guys with the details right now. Just know the fella up front is Duke and the monster behind him is Julia. They become really fast friends/allies later in the story, but at the very beginning as evidenced by this picture they don't really ah...get along that well.
Probably mostly due to a list of misunderstandings and differences perpetuated about the opposing race by each other's kind, along with a little thing called the "food chain".

It's true, her design is pretty flexible and the name "chimera" is used more loosley. But I like the sound of the name and another definition for the word is any creature that's a combination of two or more things.

I guess I just see Julia as more of a sphinx-like crea--*bothers to click the link* oh. Well forget I ever mentioned that! XD
I do like her design, aswith all the other monster girls you've done. I don't know if those are drool pools on the ground, but with that and all the protective armor he has on, Duke had better pay attention to any reflective spots if he knows what's good for him.

I love how the little rivulets of water trickle off the edge of the world at the bottom. Definitely a cool revamp of an old pic!

More like a woman's face just plopped on some nebulous beast's body that I never really bothered to nail down what it is. Its probably cause I like it better if its not a specific animal's form, just a "beast" like body.

I like the body design for Julia but her face seems to human to me. I'd debate maybe going more canine, feline or mix.
Still nice piece good use of color and cross hatching.

Thanks and that's a good suggestion! But it was a conscious decision on my part to have her bearing a decidedly more human-like face in contrast to her body.

Right now my priority out of school is finding professional work and at the same time trying to update portfolios and what not to send to various companies for employment. I worked on Step-Monster in school were when I wasn't doing school work I was just putzing around. Right now the priorities have shifted and if I wanna move out of my parents house I need to lock down solid employment so all my energy is shifted towards that rather than working on new step-monster comics when I'm not at my day job.
Hopefully soon I can restart it but for now its just a matter of priorities.
