Edit Yes, I am aware that "were" is a prefix for "man." So the literal translation would be "man-pony." The term was used as a comedic mis-speak. It was also named as such because a) that's what it was called in the role play and b) people would automatically know what it was.Because people have been hounding me about grammar, I will no longer respond to anything referring to "were," "pegasuses," "pegasi," or so on. It's not that important, people.
YES, IT'S FINALLY FLANKING DONE!
Soooo... it took me a month longer than I would have liked, but HEY! At least I finished before Christmas 8D Here we introduce Lilac Pageturner (© ~akrex ), the Element of Curiosity. This scene is actually very close to how the two ponies really did meet in the role play world. Minus the cake, that is.
This was fun to draw for a few reasons
-The derp faces
-The Lilac abuse (I'm sorry D8 it's fun to abuse ponies!)
-The puns. I LOVE THEM AND I HATE MYSELF FOR LOVING THEM!
-And we get to dive into Daydream's magic a bit.
Also, the cake thing wasn't meant to be a motif. In the first comic, I was all "What would someone with a sweet tooth go bonkers over?" and I went "cake!" And for this one, I was all "What do you celebrate with that would be funny to drop on someone?" and I went "cake!" So yeah. Daydream likes cake now XD But remember, she's not giving her cake, she's assulting her with cake!

Since "were" refers to "vir" and "wer" (virile and world), since both explain concepts that would relate to ponies in a world without humans and where the ponies are the humans of this world, it makes perfect sense that "wer-ald" (world) or "man-age" would become "pony-age."
Thus werepony would be fine. Although I guess it would still be werewolf now that "were" means "pony."

You aren't the only one. Her lines are Pinkie, and she has the adorableness of Fluttershy and the childlike innocence of all the Crusaders. Nopony is more qualified to voice Sweet Daydream than Andrea Libman.

-Hummm... No ? About 90% of people use 'pegasi' as the plural for 'pegasus' (whatever the source... pictures, stories, on the Internet,etc..).

"Pegasi" doesn't pop up in a dictionary. "Pegasuses" does. Until the show, I've NEVER heard of "pegasi" being used as a plural. The show just sort of made it up, I think.

When it comes to what's official, people refer by default to the content of the series, as whatever comes from the series is OBVIOUSLY used, first and foremost, for the purpose(s) of the series and its Universe. -_-

I'm loving the facial expressions. They're just so... expressive!
And I'm loving the characters. Then again, for some reason I'm a sucker for pink ponies, and Lilac reminds me of Fluttershy somewhat.
I also like how the protagonist for Daydream's story idea is an alicorn with obvious Mary Sue traits. Maybe introduce a vampony to complete the love triangle. Now it just needs a name... *Twilight walks in*
About the glasses, I realize that they're suppose to hook around the ears to hold them onto the face, but it looks really weird. You might consider doing it the way they do in the show, having the earpieces pass under the ears.

Were-pony is an extremely incorrect term, seeing as the term "Werewolf" came from the word wolf, and the word Were, Latin for man... Making a were pony something Lyra would really want to be. I think "Wolfpony" is a much better term.

Pegasi is an actual bird-horse mythical creature in its own right, and changing ~us to ~i in plural is hardly unheard of (cacti, octopi).

(My point being that "pegasi" should at least be optional, especially as you could debate that there's no such creature as "a pegasus" just one winged mythical horse NAMED Pegasus.)

Actually, within the show "pegasi" is the canon plural. Note that it is not only used by Rainbow Dash, but by Celestia herself.
In RL, the plural would normally be up in the air, (as Pegasus is originally a proper noun), but Greek mythology also includes a race of winged horses named for Pegasus: The Pegasoi. This supports the use of the irregular plural for pegasus. Besides, English usage has largely settled on pegasi as the plural.
