Description Edit Yes, I am aware that "were" is a prefix for "man." So the literal translation would be "man-pony." The term was used as a comedic mis-speak. It was also named as such because a) that's what it was called in the role play and b) people would automatically know what it was.

Because people have been hounding me about grammar, I will no longer respond to anything referring to "were," "pegasuses," "pegasi," or so on. It's not that important, people.

YES, IT'S FINALLY FLANKING DONE!

Soooo... it took me a month longer than I would have liked, but HEY! At least I finished before Christmas 8D Here we introduce Lilac Pageturner (© ~akrex ), the Element of Curiosity. This scene is actually very close to how the two ponies really did meet in the role play world. Minus the cake, that is.

This was fun to draw for a few reasons

-The derp faces
-The Lilac abuse (I'm sorry D8 it's fun to abuse ponies!)
-The puns. I LOVE THEM AND I HATE MYSELF FOR LOVING THEM!
-And we get to dive into Daydream's magic a bit.

Also, the cake thing wasn't meant to be a motif. In the first comic, I was all "What would someone with a sweet tooth go bonkers over?" and I went "cake!" And for this one, I was all "What do you celebrate with that would be funny to drop on someone?" and I went "cake!" So yeah. Daydream likes cake now XD But remember, she's not giving her cake, she's assulting her with cake!

Ah, you meant the story within the story. Yes, it's supposed to be a very sort of paint-by-numbers fairy-tail.

I feel obliged to point out that the prefix "were" means man (werewolf = man-wolf werepony = man-pony).

Exactly, werepony would mean a man that turns into a pony during the full moon.

Very cute story!

Though I'm a very, very bad person. I kept thinking... "When Sweet Daydream gets very excited, she shoots white stuff from her horn, sometimes all over a friend..." and blushing.

First of I started by reading the description first, when i saw the line about 'Lilac Abuse' I started cracking up! Im actualy used to my charaters being used for comical effect (whether it be falling into trouble or as being hit by cake!), most often I make them that way (cause a perfect character isn't as funny as one that gets goofed often. Haha I just didn't expect lilac to become the same. Oh this is too funny! Your welcome to use her as a scapepony anytime, she can be clumsy sometimes lol.

I enjoyed how it was very close to how they originally met in the rp I love that feel like I helped you create a page with what we did together x3 I found it very funny! Lilac's usually over stuffed saddlebags is normal for her, but I think she had one to many this time XD I'm glad you used that to start of her introduction. Oh the pony puns I love those so much! Recently I came up with Big Macbeth by William Shake-Spur Oh yes its wonderful!

I also enjoyed how she continued to spout the knowledge of were-ponies (Or Equine-Lupines as i suggested) despite if Day was listening or not. XD She just loves teaching ponies about things she learned. I loved the story in Day dreams imagination It was great getting an image of it making it more memorable than just reading her talking about it. Just like with the food ninja's bit in the last comic its interesting to get inside the oversimulated imagination of Day. x3

Cake oh the cake that was hilarious! Everypony should have a certain gag that they use or are known for x3 For lilac she says "Oh dear" so often when some other pony in the chat says it they say "Sorry lilac" XD its like her catchphrase. Day and cake make a humorous addition to the comic story line x3

For me the literal 'icing on the cake' was when it plopped onto her face inbetween her glasses. That was a perfect way to end an encounter. Your use of classical comical gags or cartoonistic actions (like the hoof in the mouth or the random faces that went along) were just like the show, it made it very much like part of an episode.

I really cannot wait to see more! x3 I approve of this comic page despite Lilac's slight embarrassment XD

'Oh dear' as she would say, I made it a very long comment, but Im glad to give you helpful and encouraging feedback x3

Gyah! This is bucking BRILLIANT! Really, this is on par with Fallout: Equestria for OC development, and (only my opinion) above Antipodes. They're all just so LOVEABLE! Only three blasted issues, and this comic has ascended to the very heights of my pony comic loves.

Keep up this snazztastic comic, Princess!

BlackWidower In reply to ??? [2011-12-18 00:45:15 +0000 UTC]

The term werepony would actually be broken down to man-pony because the term derives from the old English world "wer" meaning "man".

She got a job as a writer? What kind of writer. From her approach I would guess novelist. But I don't think that's quite how it works. Generally if you are hired as a writer it would be for some preconceived world. That doesn't mean you can't sell an original idea, but you wouldn't be "hired" in that case.

It doesn't look like cake...and I hate the names, they are a bit of a mouthful.

Tprinces In reply to BlackWidower [2011-12-18 01:53:29 +0000 UTC]

.... do you just hate everything I do?

I don't mean to sound rude, but every comment I've ever seen from you is something negative...

As for your questions, she was hired on as a fiction writer for a bi-monthly magazine. so she writes short stories for it. This particular story would be submitted in chapters with each issue.

As for the names, they're not outside the realm of believability for the MLP FIM universe. Seriously. "Sweet Daydream" is a mouthful but "Twilight Sparkle" isn't?

BlackWidower In reply to Tprinces [2011-12-18 07:15:36 +0000 UTC]

I don't hate, I love, that's why I criticize. It'd be rude to say it's perfect when it isn't.

Tprinces In reply to BlackWidower [2011-12-18 07:25:53 +0000 UTC]

I don't mind criticism, it just never feels like it. criticism is offering suggestions to improve, not pointing out flaws and never offering solutions.

Ah well. it doesn't really matter.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlackWidower In reply to Tprinces [2011-12-20 06:36:46 +0000 UTC]

Not really, you don't have to provide specific ways to improve, you just point out the failings and have the creators either choose to ignore them, or find their own ways to fix them. I've never seen a professional critic suggest ways to improve.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tprinces In reply to BlackWidower [2011-12-20 06:52:07 +0000 UTC]

I do all the time. Spill.com is a great cite of movie reviewers that often point out the flaws in movies and then suggest what might have been done instead. So does Nostalgia Critic. Hell, even Yahtzee suggests what can be done to improve a game (ie: tighter controls, better character design and so on). Pointing out flaws just to point out flaws is useless.
