I had a few requests for a drawing tutorial for Lackadaisy so I figured, hey! Let's draw some stupid, whynot?Originally, it had a painting tutorial included, but it was getting to be too long, so I truncated it. That part might make it onto lackadaisycats.com when I hoist up there, though.

Your tutorial is awesome. You cover fundemental form in it, which a lot of new artists haven't even heard or thought about doing - it's a good practice, even before you start drawing anything in particular. I did wonder why we covered it in art school....our tutor never did explain, but I think that was because she didn't know why we were doing it either.... 
But this was a very lovely tutorial, and you have a very funny sense of humour!!! Nice and sarcastic, like me

If only I had enough patience to actually draw in such a lovely and structured manner... I've never had any actual art classes past eighth grade stuff, so needless to say, I've just been winging it for a while. So many steps though! Alas, maybe I should just stick to writing and unrefined drawings as pastimes! D':

Haha. I like this tutorial. Oh, just one thing, was that all done with pencil, or was there computer stuff involved with finalizing. I know how to draw on paper and stuff, but I have no idea whatsoever how people manage to make art with a mouse. People keep telling me to use Photoshop but I have no idea how to. Anyways, wonderful tutorial.

I found you randomly through another deviant's favorites list, and I have to say that, hands-down, this is the best tutorial I've seen on DA thus-far. You break everything down neatly, but you put it into terms and steps that people can understand ...
... and the shapes! Oh, the shapes. So THAT's why everyone I draw tends to look like they could fall over if you poked them, after a while. e_e Duh, Ang.

I'm definately going to have to set aside some time to read Lackadaisy now, it looks like it's got almost everything I like - humor, whimsy, the prohibition era, and pinstripes. I never thought of starting out with the 3-D shapes. I usually did the whole stick figure thing. That didn't work out very well though '|D.

i haf learnt it well, but the funny thing is, i noticed that I use the same kind of guidelines as you, and I think that is teh awesomes! you inspire me to actually make my comic presentable to the public, because it teh sucks right now; your drawings and comic is awesome, keep up the good work!
