Description
I'm really, really sorry about the lack of update, guys. Struggling a lot with the comic lately.I put this panel process rundown together for Draw! recently, though, and even though it's not very exciting, I figured at least it's something I could share in the meantime.
This process has gotten vastly more complicated since I started working on Lackadaisy. Pages used to be almost 100% pencil with just a little sepia tone added digitally. Now, after penciling, a panel often requires hours of additional work. (Put 12 or 15 panels together per page, and it adds up to at least part of the reason I fail so hard at regular updates.)
------------------
Other Lackadaisy stuff is here . Twitter and Facebook announce site updates too.

Jeez even the "crappy pencils" stage is freaking awesome.

Hi Tracy,
Are you going to update or work on the Ainessa world again? I love your style and the characters' personality captured in their expressions. I've been checking on that now defunct site but was curious.

I'm happy that you rather get the quality done over making the 'due date' on these, very much worth it. It adds a lot more depth and respect to your work. I wonder if there was a carnival or festival how you'd convey the colors?

Oooo that last step (bringing the two sepia layers together) really makes the picture POP! Thanks for sharing!

Its okay. The quality of your artwork more than makes up for the slow updates. Leonardo Davinci had the same problem

Cool
See, I emailed you and I was all like "Woo, what are the steps and mediums" and such and now I know...
Because knowing is half the battle...
And knowledge is power.
Woot!!!

putting the two versions of color together at the end looks really cool...
(faves for interesting ideas and for a little help with determining when something is more simple than I make it out to be)

I know it takes you so long to produce the comic. The results are GORGEOUS though! I have the first volume in hard copy form and adore it. I hope you keep up with it even though it's a lot of work!

Well, I'd say this more explains the quality requirements for the time between postings. As well, the 'tutorial' aspect provides some handy info for those of us working a lot with PS in any quise.
Thanks!

Actually doubles as a pointer to the process you'd have to take for color arts too which is something I'm struggling to grasp. :3

wow. I at first thought before I decided to study to be a civil engineer, I would be either a)Chef b)Drawing Artist c)Musical Artist d)Architect or e)Civil Engineer, now I see I took a bad move, well at least there's only two years left for my graduation. Maybe I'll take up art after this.
Anyway, related to your description of how you do your work AMAZING!!

This is really neat and informative. Here I thought it was a simple process of drawing it while having a lot of tallent! A bit more complicated than I thought!
I've been enjoying the comic for a while now. I espeically love your character designs and expressions. (My all-time favorite moment is when Rocky tries to intimidate Wick. Also I love really whenever Rocky and Freckles are together. ) Also, the mix of history and fantasy is something I'm perticularly interested in (I'm wriitng a fantasy story myself set in the 1930s)
