Description I'm really, really sorry about the lack of update, guys. Struggling a lot with the comic lately.
I put this panel process rundown together for Draw! recently, though, and even though it's not very exciting, I figured at least it's something I could share in the meantime.

This process has gotten vastly more complicated since I started working on Lackadaisy. Pages used to be almost 100% pencil with just a little sepia tone added digitally. Now, after penciling, a panel often requires hours of additional work. (Put 12 or 15 panels together per page, and it adds up to at least part of the reason I fail so hard at regular updates.)
------------------

Other Lackadaisy stuff is here . Twitter and Facebook announce site updates too.

Thank you for sharing this. Seeing your process helps me better clarify my own approach, especially in the tension between line and tone.

I must confess, every time I see your sequential work I want to take another shot at comics.

Considering how extensive your process is, I can totally understand the lack of update. It always comes out beautifully though.

But the work you do to give up multiple page updates is worth the wait. I enjoy just looking at your art.

my heart, as always, goes out to you on making this comic. Not too many people realize how much it takes, ( I used to make little animation type things that were around 5 min. a skit. At 24 frames per second that was alot to undertake.) And when you throw the rest of the day to day in the mix it gets hard to meet deadlines. that's why I have always loved Lackadaisy. The heart that you put into this shows in every page. Congrats on keeping this thing going. Cheers.

This is a very comprehensive little tutorial, I'd say that I was impressed, but this is just par for the course when it comes to your work! Do you use a similar greyscale method for your color pieces?

Aaahh, this is fantastic. I just love seeing stuff like this, and from such a skilled draftsperson at that! I regret not seeing you at SDCC - you had left the con already by the day I made it over to your booth (still bought some Lackadaisy stuff) - but this is probably exactly the sort of thing I would have asked you about

So, thanks for posting this!

The way I see it, you can't rush art. I'm always immensely happy to see updates when they happen, and expect them to be infrequent with as much work as you put into the comic. Keep it up!

This is of great interest to me, I'm thankfull for this cool look into your process. Great update and good luck with all the work. Can I ask how much work goes into a page or book in terms of hours? And how much you charge for it?
