I dunno about this, but I heard Albert was the original MSR No. 3. Ah well.

I believe so. From the ERS stories, Albert had a tendency to bully his crew, and at one point he refused to take on water with a goods train. Duke had to rescue him, but Albert had collapsed his firebars, so when Falcon came, Albert was used as a spare parts engine.
