Description
Lawl, I'm gonna get haaaaaate for this one.Because there are just so many stamps hating on people who use the Japanese language.
No, this does not pertain to JUST Japanese. It refers to how people for some reason have a problem with knowing and speaking more than one language. If you hear me in real life, you'd hear a mixture of english, japanese, spanish, and german, because I speak all those languages at leave semi-fluently (lol) and enjoy using them. I don't see why you have to stick to one language if you know more. My Otaku friend and I somtimes add Chan to each other's names when we speak to each other, and it's not all that rare to hear one of us say "Hai," or "Arigoto." But it's not like we go spouting to random people we barely know "OMG THAT IS SOOO KAWAII DESU!"
Also: I'm not supporting the weabos who are actually like "Kawaii desu, XXX-chan~!" and spout words they barely know the meaning off. But if you can pronounce it and actually know it's meaning, than it can be fun. No, most of us aren't trying to be Cultural or whatever, we're just trying to have fun with it and be a little silly.

hmm... me and a old friend used to take Japanese classes with each other and to practice we'd use some Japanese words and phrases.
We still do it, but over text.
Something like:
Me: What time is it?
Friend: 午後 十二時。

I'm currently learning Brazilian Portuguese— wait, my bad... 'Portugês', if I may.. But yes. I'm learning the language and it's quite nice. I am getting far into it .
I already know a lot of languages, having Russian to be one of them.
And if you guys want to learn Russian, it's not that hard as other people say it is.

Hi, I just happened to stumble upon this post and holy shit!!!! I'm surprised to see someone who can speak Brazilian Portuguese and Russian, I can speak Portuguese so it's almost the same as Brazilian Portuguese. I know I'm like 3 or 4 years late but can you give me some advice on how to learn Russian? I'm learning it by myself.

Yeah German is very hard for English speaking people. Not so much for a fellow Germanic speaker like me. I'm Dutch . If you need any help, I'm willing to offer mine. (Classy me is classy).
For learning Japanese there is this site called PuniPuni, here is the link; Clickity-click, It teaches grammar and such. Maybe it could help you .

Haha I know what you mean I always speak random German words in the middle of conversations cause I love German.
Everyone has kind of got used to it now though
And they all know German
And then I end up writing German in my French exam which isn't too good. I just think that if I don't know the answer in French then I might aswell put it in German.

I'd like to invite you to We love Deviantart and we want to make it better. The aim of this group is to ask deviantArt, on behalf of all to let us all write the titles in any language, including all the symbols like &, ç, ñ, á, Å, µ, ß,û etc.
We want to grow big to be heard. If you want, you can help by joining and just spreadin the word

Nice group!

Oh! Well, I'd be honoured -- I don't know why you'd want me though. While I do agree with what you've said, I have few images with that sort of message and as such, I'm unsure about how much I'd be able to help your cause.

We´ll be happy to have you in This group is not to submit deviations (there are a lot of them for that already ^^) We`re here to ask the staff of DA to let us name our deviations the way we want in any language. All you have to do is join and tell others you know about it to join too. When we are enough, we´ll tell everybody what to do at the same time. If we are lots and lots of deviants asking for the same, they finally have to hear us. Also you can give us any idea you want

I'm sort of a linguophile, so I can relate.
The worst thing, though, is knowing or learning a language that you have no one to speak it with :<

I have not learned Japanese yet, and because it's such a different language from English grammatically, I don't think I would commonly be heard saying Japanese words in my English sentences, but I do occasionally start speaking Swenglish. Because Swedish and English are similar in many ways and I write and speak in Swedish so often when I study it or talk to Swedes on the internet, when I speak really fast it is actually easier to speak Swedish och I think int about it.
Same with, when I learn Spanish and German, you know.

Yeah, I know what you mean. And I know, the Japanese sentence structure is way different than English. I'm learning Japanese currently, and something basic like "Nihongogah Wakarimas ka?" ("Do you understand Janpanese?") is literally translated as "Japanese Understand?" which gets hella confusing with long sentences. XD)
But, it can apply to all languages, not just Japanese. I think it's fun, and it's just sort of annoying to be considered a desperate brat trying to be cultural when all I'm trying to do is have fun with a language.

Yeah. Are you learning the alphabets or do you already know the alphabets?
It is fun, isn't it? The only thing I am angered by is that everyone thinks it's German
when Swedish sounds nothing like German, even with an American accent! @_@ And of course German doesn't use the å, does it.

I'm learning speaking, not spelling. They have like...three alphabets. I'll learn to spell once I can speak it a little better.
I probably couldn't tell the difference between German and Swedish. -sweatdrop- I only speak some painfully basic German. XD

Yeah, I know.
I really would suggest learning the alphabets asap, because I have met numerous people who have learned Japanese and the ones who learned the alphabet (especially hiragana first, though katakana and kanji are not found as often in basic Japanese learning books and the like--at least, katakana is found more often than kanji, in my experience) well the ones who learned the alphabets first said they're glad that they did, and the ones who didn't said they wish they did. =_= I can't tell you what to do, but I would highly recommend it. Plus, that was if you learn the alphabets you needn't just learn from romaji. Believe me, they are not similar at all.
