Fidget spinners are not for autistic kids. As an autistic person I can say these horrible fad toys do nothing for autism. Got bored of it in seconds and it certainly doesnβt help you focus.

To be honest, after I scrolled down to the comments and saw that you weren't intending to mock autism, that was when I became okay with it. I do have a problem with people who have no idea what autism even is treating it as some joke, and using the word as a random insult (sometimes to things that are the opposite of autism, even).
My nephew, who is not autistic, has a fidget spinner. I tried it to see what it was. All it does is spin while you push in a button and flick it?? I can understand spinning a pen or something, as a way of stimming, but fidget spinners hold no appeal to me at all. However, if they help some people concentrate more easily (and I do understand the thing about having to fidget to be able to concentrate better), then hey.Β

I have autism and I don't use those things. My cousin doesn't have autism, and he does use those things.
And if an a person with autism gains comfort from a repetitive motion, what the hell is wrong with that? It's like, what's wrong with a person with spina bifida using a wheel chair? It's all about coping with disability.

Dude, its just a joke. You dont take everything so literally. Just because somebody makes an offensive joke, doesnt mean theres any true hatred behind it.
