Another little nostalgia trip. I still quite like retro toon Peach, or Princess Toadstool as she was once called, as well as the old show. As totally cheesy and cartoony as it was, it feels like it either helped set the tone, or was a fair reflection of the tone that the Mario bros. games would lead toward. And while limited by 90′s budgets and quality expectations, there are times, like in thebonus DVD concept bios where it feels they had an interesting grasp on the characters, and with that mindset, and with different stories and just a wee bit more serious storytelling, more akin to the awesome Nintendo Power comic, another Mario show could definitely work in modern times.
Random aside: I just learned Tabitha St. Germaine of Rarity fame voiced Kootie Pie Koopa . Neats.

You also have to give the creators credit for being able to come up with everything considering how little they were given to work with.

This is pretty much how I feel about the adventures of Sonic the hedgehog. Heck, I actually liked that show more than SonicSATAM, which must sound like blasphemy to some people.

I was also very fond of Adventures too! Similar thoughts on that - dorky, cheesy, but definitely entertaining. It's kinda cool that that more cartoony style is in Sonic Boom nowadays. Now, if only Coconuts made a return to that one!

it is nice to get away from pink and blonde isnt it? I mean the clasic nekotendo gals had real varity Samus had Green hair Peach was a brunette, they both had modest busts but now its BBP Blonde, Boobs, Pink I dont rember ny pink on the origial Samu out fit but now she has hign heals and pink farie wings. onthe damn thing.

This looks very good. I still rather like the Legend of Zelda cartoon as well, and the character designs in it.

Oh yeah! Definitely enjoyed that one. As reviled as Link was there, I did enjoy his character in many ways, and Zelda was fantastic too. Ganon mighta been a generic 90s cartoon villain, but he did have a cool look to him too.

It was way ahead of its time making Zelda a proactive action girl instead of a damsel, which was nice. And it was just kind of nice to see the setting expanded on back in that period when we only had the 2 NES games to go from (and the lore in them didn't even jive that well).
Captain N kind of annoyed me though. Such great characters and they made several of them super annoying. The comic book had Samus on the team instead of Simon, removed most of the silly slapstick and that was a huge improvement.

the first series was pretty bad
but as for super mario bros 3 and super mario world cartoons, they really set a better standard
