Description
"You are part of the night, just like me. We're not afraid of the dark — we come alive in it — we're thrilled by it..."I have severe night terrors and, as a result, I have very few dreams (and nightmares) that I will actually remember when I awake the next day. My dreams always have this strange film-like quality. And I had the weirdest dream last night and woke up on the wrong side of the bed, with a terrible back pain and stomach craps, and yet, like most of my intense dreams, it will nag and eat away at me until I draw them out! The product was Rorschach in Gotham. It's a working title, but it really says it all.
Taking place during the passing of Keene Act to illegalise costumed crime-fighting, Nite Owl II has been missing for three days. The Crimebusters (...uh, Watchmen) have broken up and carried on a lacklustre search for their comrade, so Rorschach takes his own line of investigation to find his only true friend and the clues lead him to Gotham City, perhaps with a little help from a costumed cat burglar. (This is a conceptual plot and it's subject to change.)
For those who don't know, I'm a huge Batman fan and Watchmen fan. I may do a short comic on this, a short story, or a full-on fiction; or it could be a collection of vignettes of him fighting Gotham Rogues' Gallery — or Batman himself. I really haven't decided yet. Nonetheless, I certainly love how this drawing came, so I'm going to fix the proportions (majorly!), draw some word balloons (maybe!), sketch in a background (gasp!), clean it up, and colour it — and we'll see how it goes from there. (I'm trying to do this by incorporating the 90s Batman: The Animated Series "dark noir" style, but I don't think I'm succeeding at all. It still looks too much like my own overtly cartoony style.)
Medium - HB and 2B mechanical pencil.

¡Rotting fruit! jajajaja, I love a scene of comic with the colony nostalgia. When Rorschach robs a bottle that belongs to him friend Dan. A thing is the beans, but never it imagines that he robbed colony.
You say that your imagination is a blessing and a curse. I believe that it is a blessing. The ideas overcrowd your head and it must be difficult to be able to approach all. but it is better to have imagination than to be empty on the inside. I believe that your idea Rorschach in Gotham can work and will have many admirers. You observe your drawing, you sight the favorites.
It is very difficult to write, but I hope that you can pass on those ideas that you have

Yeah, colonge scene was very unique. I never thought he would use Dan's razor (gross!) and steal his colonge -- and get away with it. Dan has the patience of a saint, hahaha!
It's unfortunate that I'm a very slow writer, however. I always toss and turn words, constantly editing and changing the sentences. The process is extremely sltedious and long.

If I were Dan, I would have double of everything: two edges to shave, two toothbrushes, underclothes of spare part… well, doubles of that type of things that are not due to share. Rorschach has the very long hands XDDDD.
if, to write a difficult task turns out. Especially when it is desired to create something wonderful

You know, I have a wierd feeling that Rorschach would just steal the spare as well when he visits the SECOND time around, so really it doesn't matter how many he has, Rorschach will get around to stealing those eventually, hahahahahaha!

Oh, yes, he's very difficult. Sometimes, you just want to SLAP some sense into Rorschach.

You don't have to. If you have a sign in name, you can go to Meebo.com. You don't have to download the program at all. You just use Meebo.

Meebo? Never heard of it, but I'll check it out and let you know.
I may do the Yahoo Messenger thing again, as it's free, like the AOL AIM, I took it off because no one ever contacted me on it. Now that I have people actually wanting to talk to me know, I was thinking of putting it on the computer again. It hardly takes up any space.

It's a site where you can sign on to messenagers without downloading the program. It's safe and easy to use. It's like "AIM Express" or "Yahoo Messenager for the Web", so it doesn't take up any space at all.

I do, too. Of all things he does, all his victims, however, are all men. He never harms a single woman. D'awwww!

tranimation-art In reply to bluessaurus [2009-03-18 20:47:54 +0000 UTC]
No really. Look through the book? When is there a time he physically manhandles a woman? Not once. All his victims are men. He only punishes men. He completely ignores women even if he suspects them from committing a crime. Prostution is a crime and yet he doesn't attack the "American love" prostitute. She even gives him the middle finger and one would think he would jump her and break it off, he doesn't! His landylady whom he suspects cheats on welfare. He never does "Must investigate further". He's lived there for awhile judging by the piles of newspapers and dishes, but he doesn't investigate her at all, and yet he completely goes through Moloch's apartment, finding he didn't have a gun license and a bottle of illegal pills. Curious, isn't it?

That's true, you're right.
Maybe, deep inside, him have fear of women, because of his mother...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
tranimation-art In reply to bluessaurus [2009-03-19 12:12:01 +0000 UTC]
Yes, his dislike and distrust of women stem from his mother. He hated AND cared for her also, which is the paradox. She sacifriced her morality and surrendered her body in order to put food on the table, but that wasn't appreciated by Walter Kovacs. To him, the ends don't justify the means.
Really, he has a fear of anything related to intimacy. Everytime he felt something that is sexual, intimate, and akin to love, it is replaced with pain and suffering.
"Rorschach in Gotham", at its heart, is a character study. Each villain, from Two-Face to Joker, feels the layers of Rorschach's psyche and soul and we explore his characterisation. With Catwoman, we explore sexuality with Rorschach.

You know, I always kept thinking, Rorschach is very much like Batman without humor... In a sense. They have different ideas of what humor is, at least. If you're going off of the 90's BTAS.
And I lol'd during the movie when Rorschach was killing the puppies and what not, and the guy is like, "WHO ARE YOU?!"
I was entirely expecting him to pause and go, "...I'm BATMAN."
Same voice type~
I love this C: I was going to do some Rorschach vs. Batman fanart.

Well, I still love the 90s animated series. It's was such a great series and when I hear Batman's voice, I think of Kevin Conroy!
LOL! That would have been funny, but it would have completely sucked me out of the film! BRWHAHAHAHA!

Oh the 90s series is the best way to go for anything Batman (short of the comics, but even THEN). Nolan did a fantastic job, but BTAS will always hold my heart.

Actually, he smells like garbage. He keeps his costume next to garbage bins. We don't know how often he bathes, if he bathes at all, but he, at least, shaves fairly regularly (with other people's razors, eww) and has excellent oral hygiene, which I always found rather amusing.
