The fact that Tiberium infests and overtakes carbon-based life forms is merely a side-effect of its biological processes. Venomfang takes that and makes it the intended effect. Filling the roles of both first lieutenant to Avatar and chief scientist and medic onboard the Leviathan, she makes ample use of her prestigious position. She is willing to seduce, deceive and murder (often in that order) anyone to get what she wants. After all, she would neither be his second-in-command or even alive if Avatar did not have use for her expertise. She was responsible for synthetically recreating Red Tiberium, a far more powerful and unstable strain that can even poison Tiberian physiology, and her role as medic acts as a twisted form of motivation for Avatar's troops. After all, if you come back injured, you might just be subjected to her... Tender mercies... Either that or you'll wake up with an internal mechanism missing or augmented beyond recognition. It's something of a lottery...
