WARNING: Large File.It's been a bit quiet on the Juxtaposition front for too long so me being the weirdo I am decided to remedy that.
Other then that I have no excuse and I am not sorry for any of it.
Coloring this was murder, but Ratchet's optics are gorgeous.

Sure:
1. I did a sketch with paper and a pencil.
2. Scanned it and imported it into Photoshop 7. I use an Intuous 3 Wacom tablet.
3. I used the pen tool to ink the lines. It took me a while to get the hang of this tool but once I did it became my best friend.
4. I colored in the back grounds and shaded them, made them exactly how I wanted before proceeding to the characters.
5. I did base colors first before going in and adding shadows and highlights. That's the most time consuming point in the process.
6. Over all the layers, I made another and set my brush setting to about %15 percent and went over a couple places to make it look like light is shining down. That's why a few places it looks kind of faded out.
7. I used the pen tool to make the speech bubbles.

My brother helped me some, but mostly I figure it out through tutorials.
The biggest thing to understand is it's not hard to use. There's just a lot it can do. But there's only a small amount you need to know in order to use it.
It's only scary the first few hours.

I'd say start with writing first. That way once you have your story all written out, you can turn it into a comic later. If you want I could help you develope a story. I have several plot bunnies running around my head that I can not get rid of.
As for the joining with friends...
:Icontaureleafsilver: I think was the one who introduced me to Deviantart. I can't really remember. She was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Alabama. I didn't even know her real name for like 6 months before I asked her. Before that she was just 'Bowler Girl' because she wore a Bowler hat. And I was California girl (that was really my nickname in shcool. Everyone called me that). But now I'm just Cali. 
The whole comic thing was something I brought over from my old school. My friends and I would doodle little crappy comics and then Laura and I started doing it in our Government class instead of passing notes.
I have the original 'Liquid Spazz' comics and a good many of them wouldn't make sense outside our little world. But I hope to remedy that.

A beta is essentially someone who helps a writer correct thing in their story that they might not be able to notice like grammar and spelling and sometimes even plot inconsistencies.
Sure, I'd be interested. I'm not sure if I could do any writing though (My writing juice seems to be depleted. Which sucks because I have a million ideas, just no patience to write them).
