I like the art but am confused as to where the story's going.
However, I think asking "How is this IDW related" is a bit unfair, mosaics aren't meant to be. Also, the designs are a good mix of G1 and toy design.

I totally don't understand what's going on, but I find it interesting that I have just procured Grotusque, Doublecross, and Quickmix too all recently, and love seeing them in a Mosaic.

Oooh, really tiny font. And... the dialogue is really, really stiff. I'm talking Budiansky era stiff. The flow of the last three panels really killed it for me.
