Heh, in a way it's good to know I'm not the only one who's gotten tired of that piece of fanon, mostly because it's been done over and over again. Sideswipe tends to steal Trailbreaker's thunder, anyway (since Breaker is the canon jokester).
I do agree the colors and expressions are nice, though. ^^

Yeah, even discounting the characterization issues of the whole 'Twins prank someone lolz' plot, it's the beating a dead horse deal that really exasperates me. I'm of the mind that any old plot can be made new again, but...yeeeaaah not this time :{.
...Trailbreaker? I have honestly never heard of him being the Autobots' joke man. o_O Tiem to learn me some canons!

The detail and the warm quality of the art is wonderful! And it looks like they found a good use for Sunny's paint (even if it doesn't involve a cloth canvas!)

You know, I never got why the twins are always portrayed as practical jokers in fanfic. Sunstreaker never really struck me as the type for it.
Art's pretty though.

sry, butting in ... I think why fans (myself included *hangs head in shame*) choose to place a label like trickster (Sideswipe) or spazz (red alert, course i'm not in favor of the spazz thing) is because it's ... 'nice' to place personality and hobbies on characters that we love but have very little-to-no-screen time. makes it more endearing. But that's my opinion. and I understand if you feel like it's overrated,

I understand that a lot of the characters haven't gotten much attention in canon and have a lot of blanks to be filled. And while I don't outright hate or deny the twin prankster thing, I just don't really see where that came from and how it caught on so greatly. And comics with this theme have become a dime a dozen here on dA alone and I don't really think this one really is anything special and worth the Mosaic tag.

I think it's just one of those things that the fan community drew up out of thin air (I was about to say somewhere else but I want to keep things civil). I have not once seen any inclination towards a playful attitude from the twins. The only time they really got any spotlight in the cartoon was the "jet judo" scene and that gave no evidence for this kind of behavior.

Actually, there's a few times Sideswipe has a behavior that can easily be interpreted as him being into jokes in the cartoon, and other comic series. (Closest reminder to this behavior I have 'at hand' is when he mounts Starscream in Jet mode and maneuvers him to crash and says he won't release him if he doesn't say 'Uncle'.)
Sunstreaker, though, I cannot say where it comes from other than probably people think of him with the more lighter tones of his personality in the cartoon, other than his 'vanity' issue, you don't see him taking himself that seriously. Especially considering he wanted to be an actor in a human film.

Yeah but they were fighting bad guys in that scene, and it's a classic good guy psychological trick to make light of the moment to mess with the bad guys' heads. Doesn't show any proclivity towards playing practical jokes on his fellow Autobots.
I'll give you the Sunstreaker cartoon thing. But then, that entire episode should be destroyed and forgotten.

That's another things that bothers me. I'm not so much anti-prankster-twins, it's just that the idea has been done to death and I don't think it was such a great idea to begin with. To each their own though, and I'm not begrudging the writer of this piece anything. I just think you put it well, this doesn't really contribute anything to the Mosaic project as a whole.
