They did kinda come out of nowhere on the show, unlike most of the other combiner teams, and it's nice to have a bit of backstory behind their recruitment.

Patty Buckles
Got this e-mail. She doesn't believe
in chain letters. Well, Foolish Patty.

with us anymore. Ha ha patty, Ha ha!

Case 2:
George M. Simon
Hates chain mail, but he didn't want
to die that night. He sent it to 4
people. Not good enough George. Now,
George is in a coma, we don't know if
he'll ever wake up. Ha ha George, Ha
ha! Now, do you want to be like George?
Case 3:
Valarie Tyler
She got this letter. Another chain
letter she thought. Only had 7 people
to
send to. Well, That night when she was
having a shower she saw bloody Mary
in the mirror. It was the BIGGEST
fright of her life. Valarie is scarred
for
life.
Case 4:
Derek Minse
This is the final case I'll tell you
about. Well, Derek was a smart person.
He sent it to 12 people. Later that
day, he found a $100.00 bill on the
ground. He was premoted to head
officer at his job and his girlfriend
said
yes to his purposal. Now, Katie and
him are living happily ever after.The
have 2 beautiful children.
Send this to at least 12 people or
you'll face the consequences.
0 people- You will die tonight

7-11 people- you will get the biggest

I like the Protectobot's expressions even though I agree that some of them are a bit strange for the situation (looks like there was backstory there while Ratchet was making his speech)...Groove is very 0_0 while First Aid looks ticked about something. Blades, maybe? And Hot Spot = @.@ "...what have I gotten myself into?"
Blades's expression is hilarious. "...defensive...five recruits...perfect for..." and Blades is pretty much all about the "WHAT!?"
Streetwise cracks me up though; he looks likes he's thinking something along the lines of "eh...heh. Right. Sure."

Awesome Mosaic. I really like this look at the origin of the Protectobots, but more than that I like that it has the characters take a step back and look at the collateral damage that results in bringing a war to an unsuspecting planet.
I wrote a short Defensor story that follows a similar theme; you can find it on my DA page.

Woo, Protectobots! A perfect team for the medic to have come up with. I'd love to see this one developed into a longer Spotlight. And lovely art. The color palette is particularly bright and nostalgic to this old Geewunner.

Very simple to do. Although I probably spent more time coloring and trying to get the proportions of the vehicles on that panel than any of the rest.

I was wondering when that one was going to show up! This one was a real challenge. This was my first for jumping in and writing some extensive dialogue, and also tried some new tricks with the coloring process. Was a little nervous how it would come out. I'll have a "making of" up soon!

I think this is my favorite Mosaic thus far. Very rarely in "kids shows" with warfare in their central theme is there mention of any collateral damage caused by characters. Not only does this Mosaic make reference of it, but also uses the situation to explain the origins of certain characters. Excellent work.

The art on the faces looks a bit weird, almost too expressive. But the storyline is wonderful, quite emotional and Ratchet makes a very good point there.
