That's why you don't go and help a lonely Decepticon, I suppose. Poor humans.

Bludgeon is the thing that keeps his enimies up at night the archetypical lurking horror

Very creepy and well paced! The marbled/speckled/whatever background of the comic really goes well with the snow, bringing out the snow and cold aspects of this. Great work on it!

I am in awe, this is so amazing, great atmosphere, suspense and storytelling. A chilling reminder of why the Decepticons are the bad guys even when both sides cause collateral damage...

I hope he at least shoots out Bludgeon's eye or something...

Well done (though the tank Bludgeon transforms into didn't exist 1942).

What does disabuse someone of [a] notion mean?

Inform them that they're mistaken.

You're absolutely right about the tank. He really should be a Soviet T-34 or perhaps a Panzer III. I should have redesigned him, but I guess I kept him a Type 90 for familiarity, even if it's incongruous.

The narrator is saying that he doesn't want to disabuse Erik's notion of them being near the coast - if they were near the coast, they would find it easier to orientate themselves, and navigate their way home despite losing the dogs; however, the narrator believes they are lost inland, but doesn't want to rob Erik of this one strand of hope he's clinging to.

It was the word disabuse that I was not familiar with - not being a native speaker of English, I've never read it before, and it looked like it meant 'mis-mis-use', i.e. 'not abuse'. But no.

Where are the guys from, anyway? The names (Klaus, Erik) plus the word logbog make it seem reasonable that they're Swedes or Norwegians.

Close - I loosely based them on the Danish Sirius Sledge Patrol who began running reconnaissance missions in Greenland from 1941.

Hey, that was pretty good. One of the best Mosaics I've seen in a while. Great pacing, great sense of mystery.

OK. So that was one of the best-paced and best-told TF Mosaic stories I've seen in ages. Really love the pages-from-notebook motif. And the pressing creepiness is off the scale!

Feels and reads like a cross between the Marvel TFUK "black and white" short stories and something out of the 90's 'Eagle' comics or 2300AD.

Great storytelling; so many of these fan Mosaics try to tell too much or too little story, but this is perfect. Loved every moment of this, great, evocative art (reminds me of 'The Thing') and great storytelling and framing device. THIS is how you tell a human-TF story... in fact, it kind of reminded me a bit of 'Man of Iron' in how it handles Bludgeon's "alien" aspect. The only downside is that as one page, it's impossible not to be "spoiled" by the final panel before you get there; I'm betting otherwise a lot of folks forget he's a tank!

One of my favourite Mosaics ever. Fantastic work!
