Fantastic work, both art & colours - I knew that if anyone could deliver the goods for the Anniversary cover images, it'd be you guys! How long did it take you to finalise the compositions/ character placements?

Well, for my part it took me quite a bit of time. I probably had the assignment for over a month. But most of that time was from starting over a number of times until I found the layout that I thought could work with all of those characters. Joana had some input into the layout also.

I can imagine - it took me ages to figure out the final composition for my PAH Round 3 submission, and that only had 12 characters in it!
Ironically, I found that my Anniversary cover was actually a lot less complicated to draw; that said, I didn't go for as a dynamic a layout as you!
Anyway, I think you guys came up with the perfect image to front the Anniversary project : )

Exactly, he's not a Prime!

Sentinel Prime was the Prime during the events of these stories that make up this project. This character who may or may not end up being Optimus Prime is so far unnamed in IDW fiction but he is all but certainly not a Prime. (At least not yet.)

if i'm to guess correctly, this must be the end of the golden age of cybertron. everyones in cybertron forms, prime looks younger, most likely in his orion pax/optronix phase. so this looks like thae full scale outbreak of the great war.

Thanks. There were few examples I could find of previous TF works that contained 50 characters, and most of those had the characters randomly floating in space, the hardest part was showing them all while having them exist on the same plane.

Yeah, I've only seen a very few TF pics with lots of characters, and they weren't arranged at all like this.
What makes it even more stellar is the detail... even the teeny characters in the back are distinctly recognizable, and everyone has their own individual pose and expression.
I'm truly floored. Especially since you did this for a fan project, when I could see it being sold at BotCon or a similar venue as a pro poster. Well done!
