I like this, its cool, but I always think of Hubcap as a traitor. Of course, just because he's a traitor in one universe, doesn't mean he's a traitor in the IDW-verse or Mosaic-verse.
Still, I always think of Hubcap as an Autobot-turned-Decepticon.

Hubcap is an Autobot, but a rather shady one, and has been likened a little bit to Swindle. He doesn't share any link to Cliffjumper save for the actual mold/model of his toy.

As in cartoon series? Well unless he popped up in the background somewhere during Season 3, nope.
Hubcap did appear in Megatron Origins a couple of panels and in Dreamwave's former ongoing as a cameo(he was one of the new trainees). Hubcap also appeared in the Japanese Manga.

Yeah, Hubcap is basically CliffJumper with a slightly different face thats red and a Yellow paint job.
