Description Starwars Force Unleashed introduced a few new characters to the Star Wars Saga. I persoally love the Emperor's Shadow Guard. I already liked the Imperial Royal Guard helmet and have always had a thing for pole-arms but put the two together and throw a bit of Lightsaber in on top of it...very badass character.

Like what you see? Most of the known information reguarding the Emperor's Shadow Guard, the Special Ops branch of the Imperial Royal Guards in the Star Wars universe, can be found here at this

Alright, so technically this is a pixel Manipulation because I dont use the fancy software. Another wounder brought to you by MS Paint and the internet.

Also up for reference, I've taken a crack at the Lightsaber Pike [link] these guys carry.

These guys are BAMFs. The closest you can get to Vader without being Vader. When Old Man Palpatine sends one at you, it's when the Emperor decides that he REALLY wants to kill you but Vader is off doing something else.

There's a reason why I feared the Empire's nonΒ regular rank and file troops in the Force Unleashed, and these along with the Purge Troopers are the reason.

Very good, I would've liked to see what happened to these guys after the fall of the empire.

Thank you I'll have to check them out, and perhaps some of them founded the Knights of Ren and the First Order.

When black-ops just isn't enough, they go ahead and call these guys.
BTW, where were they in the Battle of Endor? Did they get disbanded just because they were too strong, or what?

extremely rare, and ill suited to ranged combat

keep in mind that the guards training result in only 50 percent of the recruits becomming guards , and the screening process was pretty selective in the first place

And Palpatine only picks those who are strong enough in the force, yet not strong enough to threaten him.

And there's also a reason why Pakpatine builds weak points in his machines and monsters, like the Death Star:

""Conquer the temptation to create specimens that are superior in every way. The danger of such monstrosities being turned against you is too great."
―Palpatine, from The Creation of Monsters."

a good quote there, it shows the detail of the starwars universe , i did a little reading on the stuff that happens after the 6 movies and some of it is very interesting, potentially could make for good sequels if they are made correctly

That's nothing. In my actual SWR play-through, I had 28 imperial Star Destroyers accompanied by 7 SUPER STAR DESTROYERS. The rebel fleet's attack was like a marine shooting bullets at Godzilla. Their ship guns didn't even register a hit on my shields.

That's if they actually got past my enormous swarm of TIE Defenders, all armed to the teeth with heavy blaster cannons, proton torpedoes, and heavy shields. 148 squads of twelve each. And all they could muster was A Wings and bulk cruisers against me. I laughed as my forces blew them to atoms then bombed their bases to kingdom come.

nice, people often underestimate the number of super star destroyers, theres dozens of those angry bastards skulking about in deep space

well the Galactic empire is hands down one of if not the most powerful space going navy in all the sci fi shows i know, i can't think of any that could take them on except maybe the borg or the daleks

chaos-sandwhich In reply to Vader999 [2012-12-08 04:48:30 +0000 UTC]

well it depends, the only thing that makes me think they could have a chance is they assimilate , and the empire use a lot of ground troops

other things that could threaten them are necromorphs from deadspace, the flood and the forerunners

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vader999 In reply to chaos-sandwhich [2012-12-08 06:03:44 +0000 UTC]

They don't have the resources to replicate IMP tech. A Stardestroyer ALONE would bankrupt a whole developed planetary system.

The ST universe deals in single digit gigawatts. The SW universe deals in MILLIONS of gigawatts.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chaos-sandwhich In reply to Vader999 [2012-12-08 14:23:38 +0000 UTC]

forerunners are world builders , they can do structures far larger than deathstars

and i agree with starwars vs star trek, that trek is vastly out gunned, out manned and underdeveloped

i have never understood why trek refuses to deploy proper ground troops, where a single star destroyer can occupy large ammounts of a planets surface, very large( by starfleet standards) ship in trek can deploy only a token force

another thing that i find funny, a single star destroyer is over three times the size of a galaxy class, and the destroyer rarely travels alone , i find it laughable that he galaxy would even stand a glimmer of a chance

but it lartgely comes down to mis communication, when people say laser, its not entirely right in starwars as as far as i was aware the blaster is a rather more complex weapon, as a aresult trek fans who know little about wars don't fully grasp the true power of the weapons

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vader999 In reply to chaos-sandwhich [2012-12-08 20:10:36 +0000 UTC]

But the Forerunners were defeated by the Flood. And I'm sure world devastators and SSDs can give them a run for their money. The ancient humans gave them quite a pounding too.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chaos-sandwhich In reply to Vader999 [2012-12-08 20:15:02 +0000 UTC]

indeed, but ancient humans were tough bastards

as far as the flood goes, they'd probably hurt the empire as well, considoring the ammount of biomass onboard an imperal vessel

i think perhaps the Tau, the chaos marines and the empire of man from warhammer might be dangerous to even the imperials , despite less advanced tech, they posses fleets of required size, speed and number to pose a direct threat

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vader999 In reply to chaos-sandwhich [2012-12-08 20:48:27 +0000 UTC]

25,000 Stardestroyers.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chaos-sandwhich In reply to Vader999 [2012-12-08 22:06:50 +0000 UTC]

indeed, but you'd be surprised how many emperor class battleships the imperium of man can muster, and while they are around a 3rd of the size of the super , they do have the sheer numbers , and the sheer density of the hull to withstand the onslaught

i'm not saying they would win outright , but its definatly a fair fight , and the space marines would massacre the storm troopers on the ground if it came to it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vader999 In reply to chaos-sandwhich [2012-12-08 22:15:28 +0000 UTC]

Dark troopers can even the odds. Phase III ones even look like the damn space marines!

Palpy held them back because if the Rebels or any ambitious moff were to take control of the droid brains for these things, there would be no end to the slaughter. But since the Imperium of Man isn't that good with hacking enemy software, it'd be an easy solution to mass produce Dark Troopers and send them out.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chaos-sandwhich In reply to Vader999 [2012-12-08 22:45:41 +0000 UTC]

potentially but don't forget the librarians , or the grey knights, i'd like to see the dark trooper survive a psykic inquisition

it would be an interesting fight, considoring neither side is likely to give ground without making his enemy pay dearly in blood

also the chaos daemons add a little something to the mix that not even a Master of the Dark side can match

then add a few of these bad tempered fellows [link]

there are enough powerful units on all sides to make one hell of a massive bloodbath

yeah but hes dead by the hight of the Galactic Empire, so you can't have him accompanying dark troopers in battle

plus theres the C'tan
no sith no matter how powerful has ever matched the height of the C'tan's vast power, they are large enough to spread across the surface of a star, feed upon its energy and move to the next when its host is extinguished

interesting, but the nightbringer is the image of death, the reason mortal creatures have fear of death ,implanted in the minds of men since before the universe was young, not a guy you want to mess with

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vader999 In reply to chaos-sandwhich [2012-12-09 03:04:07 +0000 UTC]

Sith have no fear of Death. They just turn into ghosts and haunt/possess people from beyond the grave.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chaos-sandwhich In reply to Vader999 [2012-12-09 03:08:20 +0000 UTC]

well orks don't fear death either, but my point is the sith are scary, nobody disputes that, but they don't have the claim to being the actual grim reaper ( the lore of the nightbringer indicates that his image is what the grim reaper is based on)

Vader999 In reply to chaos-sandwhich [2012-12-09 03:22:33 +0000 UTC]

Then again, Sith spirits like the Sith Emperor are beyond his reach. They can die a thousand times and come back a thousand times.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chaos-sandwhich In reply to Vader999 [2012-12-09 03:39:29 +0000 UTC]

indeed, but so also can the night bringer, infact, defeating a nightbringer causes his living metal body avatar to be shattered into shards, that hurt the one who defeated him, the nightbringer then simply embodies another living metal body

and his phase sythe is comparable to a lightsaber

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vader999 In reply to chaos-sandwhich [2012-12-09 06:14:19 +0000 UTC]

Except force ghosts can do well even without a lightsaber. Their ancient swords were impervious to energy attacks due to being imbued with the power of the dark side.

And Nihilus also survived. His consciousness lived all the way to 137 ABY.
