A hair reference picture for Helena.

So... I know long hair is nothing special in anime. Not at all. Lots of OCs in the community have longer hair than her and you probably think that this is super lame.
But for me it's not. Her hair is not just an accessory that's just there and hangs around. It's a part of her character. I personally like when there's some thought put into a character's hair and that it's not just long for the sake of it.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anything against other long haired OCs, everyone can do as they please. I obviously like long hair and I like looking at characters with long hair. This is just my personal preference.
Hair this long isn't easy to handle. It gets in the way, it tangles around your arms, it gets caught on doorhandles, in car doors, you sit on it, you step on it, it gets tangled, it gets blown into your face, it hangs in your food, it's all over your floor, in your shoes, in your underwear, etc, etc....
That's why I like it when OC creators take these things into consideration and think about some ways how their character takes care of their hair. This is how mine does it.

When on missions Helena mostly wears her hair in a hairstick bun. This is the so called lazy wrap bun (I used a reference for the middle picture btw) and she likes to put her hair up with needles that she can use for self defence as well. This is a bun that needs no hairties whatsoever, it stays up with only one stick but is more secure with two.
She also likes to wear her hair in a braid. Only rarely does she wear her hair loose (around the Order mostly). It is especially important for her to wear her hair closed because she is an archer and the hair gets easily caught in the string and could get ripped out when she shoots.

Now some data for hair freaks like me: (I have hair this length, in case you are wondering)

Helena's hair is a little over classic length which is about 120cm. (I drew it a wee bit too short in the right picture).
Her hair is stick straight, black, and has a straight cut hemline.

Her exact hair type is the following: (Fia hair typing system)

1a (stick straight, no wave) M (medium thick strands) ii/iii (Ponytail circumference: 10cm, rather thick hair)
Structure: Stiffness: 4 (higher) Cohesion: 3 (medium) Friction: 2 (low)
(Stiffness means how stiff the hair is -duh-, cohesion means how fast it gets stringy, friction means how slippery and silky it is - low friction means very slippery)

I know this information is completely unnecessary, but I'm a hair nerd and I want to include this with my OC
