I feel that. The other day, I was in a campaign for low-levels (1-3) where we were fighting wererats, and a foolish wizard NPC released a Manticore to kill them. After the wererats were dealt with, the wizard managed to land a sleep spell on the Manticore. We thought we were in the clear... until a paladin decided, against the pleading of everyone else, to try and behead the sleeping Manticore. He failed to kill it immediately, so it woke up and put a member of our party on death's doorstep. Thankfully, we managed to kill it and all of us made it out alive.

Wow that sounds familiar that was the famous last words of one PC before the entire party turned on them mutinied he forgot something very important. Yes he was lever 10, but some were the other four people in the party, and they were not the rouge that their back was too.Β

Pretty sure it's a warning. As in "don't step off that ledge, you'll fall to your death" sort of thing. very decent of him, you know. Some people may have kept quiet until it was too late.
