Description
the squid attackUnder much persuasion from my young adventurers we decided that a sea monster attack was needed
What ever it maybe our heroes are determined to see it through.
All updates are in italics
flats 2
I still have more to add in the clouds and the tentacles, plus some goo on the deck. I also have all the shadows to add and detail on the underside of the tentacles-

flats 1:
Adding the flats- This is a work in progress- I still have many other flat colors to add, especially on the boat and the creature- in fact I have not determined what the colors for both will be. Still Changing things so be patient- I should have another update on this later in the day. I should hopefully start replying again later today or tomorrow- there is a lot going on right now.
inks and the illustration:
In creating this scene I realized that I needed to make the boat deck accommodate the bears. It took a lot of reworking and a little frustration (i had to ink this twice, when I realized that several aspects of the pencils did not work). Yet it is all done and I am starting to work on the flats. Hopefully tonight if not monday.
See you around

Love this scene! It's looking really cool so far, especially the slicing of the tentacle. The sketch/inks is one of my fav stages to see but somehow I always miss seeing it. Maybe instead of replacing the image, you could make the previous versions scraps for a limited time? Can't wait to see more updates on this one.

thank you - i enjoy the sketch ink stage as well- i just didn't want to end up with 250+ deviations to look through- maybe one day I will put out a book with my sketches and ink work
as for updates there are more to come

well let's just say i think all of your art is amazing and i would love to see a travis hanson art book collecting the body of your work, especially showing pieces as they progress from sketch to final image! i would buy that in a second. i tried to buy the colouring books and broken moon books from your website a while ago and got errors. i emailed the email on the website but no one ever responded. maybe i'll try again. but i would love to see more of your art in book format - i'm not really much of a print person.

Btw, have you ever made a coloring book? I know my daughter would love something like that. Your art has such detail but is also so simple and fun.

Yikes! Shades of Jules Verne! I think the giant squid or kraken attack is de rigeur for sea-adventures of this sort.
The inks look great. Yay for the stalwart captain and his sword.
