Description i love 1950s and 1960s militaria, but unfortunately photos from that era are not always of high quality. sometimes, if it's within my skill level to fix them, i do.

here's the original shot:

since it's highly unlikely that anyone would've been able to get this close to a b-58 hustler in the air unless they were the good guys, i think it's safe to say this is a usaf photo, making it public domain. apologies to whoever took it if it's not.

i read somewhere too that the aircrew were afraid of it, something about being a scary bitch to fly

as well as mechanics having to work on it! so difficult to take care of,and a special version built{TB-58A} just for aircrew conversion training! lots of takeoff/landing accidents......not much of a service life/career....1960-1970 and "dumped"....

people-eater...! imagine having to undo 60+ panel screws on a nacelle just to service engine oil and put them all back in at a precise torque-value...? oh,the horror-stories a co-worker told me about the Delta Queen from his SAC days......

I am sure someone found a shortcut. I would be disappointed in my fellow USAF mechs If they did not find a simpler way if possible.
