Description As I leave my broken home behind,
IĀ  began to feel as if I'm sucked into the sunset,
I'm vanishing into air.
I feel like I'm seeing the light of day for the first time.
Suddenly I begin to feel truly free.

As I'm filled with an overwhelming sensation,
I wonder what it could be.
I sit and think,
Surrounded by the refreshing air.
I wander through a forest,
I listen to every sound carefully.

I could hear birds singing happily,
I heard a river gently flowing.
I listen to the wind rustle to grass.
And, I swore I could almost hear the sun,
Whispering something to me,
Though I could not understand what.

I was so used to darkness,
That the light was shocking.
This feeling was frightening,
Almost even suffocating.
I had gotten so use to pain and sorrow,
That this feeling felt alien to me.

I tried to fight it at first,
But eventually I began to like it.
I shoved away my insecurities,
I let in the confidence.

I saw my reflection in a river,
I looked sad,
Almost pathetic even.
But, still, the suffocating feeling never left.
Though, I wanted it to stay,
It was a good feeling.

I found myself sitting,
Gently picking flowers,
Making a crown out of them.
I planted it on my head,
And I felt beautiful for the first time in forever.

I sighed out, deeply.
I closed my eyes as the sun now began to set fully,
And I watched as stars began to appear.

I listened once more:
The birds had silenced,
Now they began to sleep huddled up into their nests.
I heard the river sleeping calmly.
The wind was much more gentle, almost unnoticable,
But still there.
I felt as if I could ride it to tomorrow.

Then, as I listened more carefully,
I was able to make out the stars,
Softly whispering into the night.

They were repeating a short, simple word:
Hope

What a wonderful thing to do for a friend. I hope this will bring her as much hope as it brings me. After having read this, I feel ... serene. It's in such stark contrast to your other poems in your gallery, which makes it all the more powerful. I love all your writings, but I never have any constructive criticism to give. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy and appreciate your art, and this poem has definitely brightened my day. Nature can be so peaceful šŸ’š

My pleasure Ā I can recognize so much of myself in your writings, and you're such a talented writer - so the combination of the themes and the beautiful language is just really powerful. I also feel like I learn something, take something with me, from every single poem. So thank you!

And thank you very much for the Watch! Please feel free to look through my gallery Ā

I'm glad you feel like you learned something from my writtings! I'm just a sophmore in highschool, so that really means a lot to me! I think what might make it so powerful is that I write from events and feelings that I've really felt.
