hehe I build pcs, play games when I have the time, repair comps for many a comp-illiterate people in my area, paint, draw, rollerblade, hike, swim, watch everything sci-fi that doesn't sparkle (I loath Twilight). I never got the chance to play Fallout, though I have walked in on a few housemates in the past playing them - so yes, I do know what you mean ^_^ (ps my favorite games are Wolfensteins...all of them haha)

hehe, Wolfenstein isn't bad. The Return to part (so essentially the 2nd) creeped me out with those Zombie/Viking levels. I got lost one night, too (in real life) driving around as I had moved into a new area and ended up right at a creepy graveyard in full moon setting during a time I was playing that game in those levels. I didn't know what a handbrake turn was until then.........

HAHAH YES! the first time that I played Return To, was in the dorms, and at that time, outside my window, was the entrance to the forest, that looks a LOT like the area behind the cemetery at which you first enter the catacombs...I psyched myself out so bad those nights...but I just couldn't get enough...I had to watch a few X-Files episodes to ease my imagination heh.

lol. I'm fine with a lot of stuff. Blood, gore, everything. As soon as you got half dead sekeletal zombies running around I'm outta here! I think it may have something to do with the "Polterghost" movie that I watched when I was a tad too young. Freaked me out for quite some time.

Funny that, I was scared of clowns since I was little, and I never saw It until I was about 19! I'm a vampire fan (fuck sparkles...), zombies don't bother me, unless its caused by something semi-possible...like Resident Evil O.o

Yeah, IT is creepy. If you've seen that movie clowns become rather grotesque! Mind you... although Stephen King is brilliant, the end of IT, albeit more the movie than anything, was messed up. Having that clown turn into that huge spider was taking the horror out of it in my opinion. That clown is not... fully graspable. A spider is, big or not.

Not sure if I wanted an eternal life. But another couple 100 years on top of the potential 80-something wouldn't be bad. By the time you can finally rest and enjoy your life more or less, you're dead! That's just awesome. lol

hahaha, but if you lived 300 something years...I would HOPE you would have bothered to learn how to swim...that was a bit silly to me - though it did give way for the most comical moment Data could have pulled off in the lake.
But really, if you live near a lake, and you're regenerated by rings, that DOESN'T mean you're immortal XD

Yes, the flotation device business was a tad too slapstick! Nice though if you can choose to live the way you like, if you can choose to not use things despite having the knowledge. That's what life should be like!

Dad told me once when I was 6, "you can do whatever you want, as long as you're willing to face the consequences." so in that respect, we kinda do live how we want...

Well, I guess that's true and I guess a lot of people do, but then I prefer my semi-freedom to prison walls! I think that as long as I keep in mind that people like government and most of the media are trying to take the piss and be mindful not to run along with the other Lemmings, it's not all bad.

its easy not to run with the lemmings/sheep...sheep tend to fall off cliffs and lemmings tend to...well if you played the games you know how they die ^_^

TreeClimber In reply to overseer [2010-02-27 23:25:24 +0000 UTC]
there are a FEW good things that came from remaking classics, like the Punisher, the song, J Frank Wilson & The Cavaliers - Last Kiss that REM remade (REM actually gave me chills when I heard their version), and Ocean's Eleven - waaaaay better than the 1960 version!

True, there are some gems, but I'm not looking forward to the A-Team remake, because... it just can't be done. That goes for "Knight Rider" as well. Those shows just need the somewhat tacky 80s feel. That's what's fun about it!! Then there's another "Nightmare on Elmstreet" in the making. I hope it's better than the new "Friday 13" movies, but we'll see.

Yeah, I've said that for a long time. Same goes for games. They give you some sorry excuse for a game, stripped down, feature poor and pointless. I want the full experience to decide whether I'm going to play the whole thing or not. If I do, I buy it, if I don't no worries. Not risking that today anymore though. Despite connection obfuscation and what not, it's not worth it.
