Description
Caulkicephalus trimicrodonNamed by David M. Martill and colleagues, 2005
Diet: Piscivore (Fish)
Type: Pterodactyloid (Ornithocheirid) Pterosaur
Size: 16.5 feet (5 meters) in wingspan
Region: Europe (Isle of Wight England UK)
Age: Early Cretaceous (129 to 125 million BC; Barremian)
Enemies: Ground-dwelling theropod dinosaurs such as Neovenator, Eotyrannus, and Baryonyx; crocodylimorphs
Episode: Giant of the Skies (as an unnamed small Pteranodon-like pterosaur)
Info: Discovered in the Wessex Formation in Isle of Wight, England and named in the mid 2000's, Caulkicephalus flew over the Wealden floodplains and was mostly fully terrestrial as it was found with land plant debris, while its generic name is a translation for "Caulkhead", a traditional nickname for the Isle of Wight residents. Its long beak, lined with sharp, interlocking teeth were ideal for catching fish that it preyed, while its head crest (reminiscent to those of Pterandon) would've been brightly colored and used for display.
Note: Based on www.dinowight.org.uk/caulkicep…, sorta. It was hard to determine the coloration since it made a really small appearance in Walking with Dinosaurs which is why it took so long.
For those who don't know, this is the small, unnamed Pteranodon-like pterosaur that appeared in a small role in Giant of the Skies where it catches a fish, but then the Tropeognathus (Ornithocheirus) bullies the pterosaur and steals its fish from it. So I updated it to Caulkicephalus as it was in Europe, having a crest, and teeth.

This may me a dumb question but is Ornithocheirus still considered an acutal name or has it gone under a different name? I only ask since you refer to it as Tropeognathus.

Ornithocheirus is still an actual animal, but the species shown in the show has been renamed Tropeognathus.
