Description
A token piece given a background from the game I'm currently running.

Fox-earred Elves are simply Wood Elves with a small amount of black fur on their ears. They are known to have orange or brown hair, trim builds, and tend to adorn their bodies in intricate or heavy black-ink tattoos on their face and body. They use to live reclusive lives in the woods, keeping to themselves and staying out of the conflicts outside of their domain. This changed however when the Skarn attacked and wiped out most of their cities. They have long since adjusted to a more nomadic life, intending to rebuild the forests they once called home, but finding that difficult as they have to compete with many of their neighbor's foresters and woodsmen. A small number of these elves have become outlaws; either out of personal interest, or to hit those that would try to take their old homeland before they can reclaim it.

My players had a recent encounter with some Fox-Earred Outlaws; the PCs had taken up a job to transport a criminal to a more secure prison. Sometime during the night, half of a horse carcass fell from the trees onto the prison carriage they were driving. Some Ogres rushed through the woods to the carriage, they were very hungry and very angry, and they spotted their stolen Horse Meat on the Carriage. Combat ensued and while the PCs were distracted with the Ogres, the Fox-Earred Outlaws tried to open the locked carriage back. They were unsuccessful as one of the party members spotted them and they fled before any of them got hurt, but the PCs still don't know why they tried to rob the prison carriage.
I can't say much, but I can say this, they weren't trying to spring the prisoner inside.
