Description
Pavel the borzoi~He is young which explains his short ears and thin tail. :3
This is a wip because I need to show him without his coat. <3
I would love for anyone to have a go and draw him! :3

Love the reference ^^
But Borzoi tails are often fully fluffed out long before fifteen months! Just so you know XD

Thank you!
Huh, thanks for telling me. xD I for some reason found a picture of a 15 month old with not full tail. But I didn't look at any other 15 month olds.
Well, whenever I update his reference I will change it. Do you suggest an age?

They probably had it trimmed XD Trimming a borzoi down is definitely an easier way to look after its fur without having to brush it.
WELL it's been about two and a half years since my boy was a puppy, but I think it started happening around...maybe four to five months?
Like I said, it's been awhile--but I'm getting another Borzoi puppy in the next few weeks after his sudden death a month ago, so I can get back to you on that XD

I see. xD That would make more sense. :3
Okay, thank you! I will change it sometime (whenever I'm not too lazy lol x.x)
And that's great you're getting another! Although, I'm sorry your borzoi died. That must be hard.
I have never owned a Zoi, but it's been my dream for like seven or so years.
You should upload pictures of your new puppy whenever you get it! ^^ Instant fave haha.

I INTEND TO SPAM THE WORLD WITH PICTURES OF HER.
Yeah, it was pretty shocking. He was only three years old and it was very sudden. We sent away for an autopsy but they still haven't managed to find anything. My parents are pretty sympathetic and totally awesome to be getting me another one AND paying to have her shipped all the way from New Mexico. I'MSOEXCITED. And eager to have the Borzoi-shaped hole in my life filled again 8(
You should get one. If you can get in contact with a breeder, there's borzoi females in heat all over the country, it's that time of year XD Now's the time to get the puppies, there's plenty to be got!
(I'd avoid Shefaro in Texas though, if you happen to hear of her. She's actually the one we got Zahr from, but now that we've been talking to other breeders we're hearing a lot of negative things about her 8( )

GOOD! Can't wait. XD
Wow, that's terrible. That's like what happened with my old dog, he died within 24 hours, and we weren't sure of what...
Well you're parents are great XD I wish my parents would let me get a zoi. :c But since we are renting a house, contract says no more pets. :/
I'm happy for you though!
I know many borzoi breeders (from facebook, dogshows, etc), but I haven't heard of Shefaro, but thanks for the warning! D:
I cannot wait to have one of my own though.

Well, when you are ready, this is a link to the site for the pictures of the CURRENT litter I'm getting my Starling from: [link]
and THAT has the email of the breeder at the top. It's very hard to find borzoi breeders via internet--there are few sites to begin with and most of those are difficult to navigate, and some haven't even been updated in a few years.
So I'd suggest your best bet is that if at the time you're looking this breeder doesn't have any puppies that strike your fancy, you should ask if she can recommend any other breeders--the best way to break into borzois is through direct contact with a breeder instead of searching the internet. The community is very much word-of-mouth XD
If that doesn't work, I'd suggest going to a dog show with borzois--whoever's entered a borzoi either IS a breeder or obviously got their dog from one and can help you out 8)
Best of luck!

Yeah! For sure you have to be cautious over the internet. (I would never get a dog if I didn't visit the facility first) x)
Those pups are adorable! <33
I will definitely bookmark that page, thank you. (for when I'm ready)
Yeah, I recently went to my first dog show, had about thirty zois there. (First time I got to see borzois instead of just pictures) It was awesome, and I was able to talk and meet some owners and get advice. ^^

I'm so excited about getting my little girl, possibly as soon as next week CB The breeder's actually giving us full rights--the puppy has great lines and she wants us to be able to show her if we want, so we don't have to spay her. I think showing is definitely something I'd enjoy, so I hope to look into it.

Which one on the website are you getting?
I'm excited for you. XD
And how great! Showing or coursing would be something I'd like to do with my borzoi, when I get one. ^^

I'm getting the grey sable+white female 8) she's the second one down and already has (reserved) next to her name and everything!
I was thinking about agility or something in addition to showing--but at this point with college on the nearing horizon I also have to take into account I may not have time for it XD

Ohh, how cute. ^^
I had my eye on the first one, the Dark sable and white.
Yeah that's the same issue with me, I just have one more year left of highschool and my parents don't want to get a dog because I will not be there to train. xD D:

Bah! I have two months of highschool left and the coming summer. Training a dog isn't hard, it's easy enough to get the basics down within a month or so if you work with them every day and after that it's just cementing your authority as alpha dog.
My main worry is finding a place to live with him once I'm in college. No apartment complex is going to let me house a horse-dog in their building Bl

Nice!
I am very excited for college. x)
And yeah! I am a dog trainer. ^^
But, my parents are far from knowing how to train.
Yeah, what I'm hoping is when I go to college, I'll live in a dorm freshman year, and then get an apartment so I can have a dog. But we'll see how that works out.

Thanks
the legs were a challenge and I don't like how they turned out. XD But glad you do~
It's so funny I've seen photos with borzois in coats like this, and they seem to just get swallowed up in them. XD
