Description
A year ago a bunch of cartoonists went to Garland, Texas to exhibit their cartoons after a cartoon contest to depict Mohammet had been held. While they peacefully went about their lives two armed Muslims tried to force their way into the show intent on causing death, mayhem and destruction. thus they thought they could silence an idea... the idea that the Koran and its Pedophile creator espoused hate and bigotry enforced through violence! See here for more details... www.cnn.com/2015/05/05/us/texa… they were stopped by a hero with a gun in the parking lot.Good friend and fellow artist Bosch Fawstin was there as the winner of the contest and his award winning cartoon is displayed on the hand on the right. the other is the famed cartoon of the bomb turban Mohammet by Kurt Westgaard. both cartoonists have been under constant criticism and derision for daring to express their opinions in artistic form.
Express yourselves free of the threat of violence!

Gutsy, man! Good for you!
I wonder if the old non-prophet didn't want images because, I don't know, maybe he looked like Michael Jackson or something?

Hmmm.. interesting take. might be worth a new image.
Its really not that brave. My goal is to make it safe for everyone to make images of the ole goat. Opinions should not be a death sentence... and speaking the truth should not be silenced! no one thinks twice about making fun of mormons or the pope. Why should mo be special?

Amen to that. We will never give in to the fear and intimidation of Muslim Extremists and terrorists. For when we do, they will win.

As artists we should never have to risk physical violence simply to express ourselves!
Thanks for the support of Ideas!

Next up Everybody Draw Mohammed Day 20.05.2016.
Enough oversaturation and killing a few artists becomes futile due to the sheer numbers.

Well thanks!
Thanks for supporting the idea that a cartoonist shouldn't have to fear for his safety to express an opinion.

Y'know, it's funny that you mentioned this. It seems like so many people are interested in kowtowing to rapists, killers, and thieves in the name of religion and yet these same people will whine and bitch when other people mention their own thoughts. Seems that we are only interested in shouting down people who disagree or even sicking the Government on them.
I always thought that the US was founded on truth, justice, and the American way ... that last one has changed to the land of the appeasers and home of the offended. Perhaps we need more discussion, more offhandedness, more rebellion, and more ways of reminding people what the First Amendment is.

Thanks for your support.
Yeah I've dealt with a few of those chimps here on my page. The best ones are the ones that don't catch the irony that they're supporting the actions of murderers and rapists. They love to try and shout you down and attack you and not the facts of the argument. The last chimp/ troll tried to re-define every term to suit his own agenda. He even tried to use latin to try and win an argument not knowing that I'm semi learned in latin. Then he repeatedly accused me of being a "coward". Which is laughable considering I am risking my ass everytime I post a cartoon.

**Giggles!**
My pleasure!
Honestly, that's what the majority of people do these days when they disagree with you. They will shout you down. Now, there are a few ... and one I banned from my page for being a jerk ... who will toss all sorts of seemingly truthful facts at you to confuse and knock you off your game before saying, "You have no idea what you are talking about."
Most of the time, I point out that I default to anything done that takes away the rights of one person in favor of another is wrong. Then they try to shout me down with arguments we used to give to Sister Agnes or Father John: "If God is all powerful, can he make a stone so heavy that even he cannot lift it?" In that, they miss the point of the whole conversation and then it's like fighting a fool in a burning house.

It seems theres a Troll a minute here on Deviantart. None seem to think that you are allowed to have an opinion that differs from theirs. Its funny too, because I never go to their page and leave comments if they make a work I disagree with. I simply move on and make my own statement. (I have just such a ranter here...Objectivist ) This one "demands" I debate him on Objectivism. He doesn't get I don't care to defend Objectivism because it's not necessary. If he wants to debate he can go to an Objectivist site and debate.

Well, as I have begun to understand it, it's the way things are done there days: you shout the opposition down with mindless accusations, never mind that accusation is right or wrong. The whole point is to keep them off their game so that you win or at least get them so rattled that they start to question or doubt what they believe is right.
I used to teach a while back, always trying to encourage respectful debate on ideas, values, and principles. In my class, it didn't matter if you were right or wrong. If you couldn't be respectful, then you were asked to stop. That's what the moderator is for. But as I have been told, I'm old and out of date, so I must step aside ...

I know and I still feel that they need to know a different position. Otherwise, they will blindly accept what is wrong.
