Could you please give the submission a ? This is really the kind of thing that truly characterizes who we're looking for, and really paints our picture.
In fact, the avatar would have looked something like this, if I weren't running Photoshop as a Trial…

I'm sorry, but the work currently in your group is just too different.

I understand what you're trying to do, and I'm happy that you like it, but as your group currently stands, this piece just doesn't fit, since most of your gallery features photography.

Our gallery Features photography because that's what we have. It's happenstance, not intention. I'm still really working on the Gallery, but people who don't make a descision slow us down. This deviation would really help paint a picture of who we're meant to be.
If the answer's "no", than it's no. Don't leave it on hold.

Okay, as you wish. It is your choice how your deviation should be used and displayed, and I humbly respect that right.

I hate to break it to you, but with this statement you are supporting the superior computers. So now as I see this, I can only think of the late 90s Apple ad campaign. So I laugh, because this is proof that your subconcious truly wants you to switch.

Its the font.

I realized later that its exactly the same as said apple ads, but the font looks good, so I don't want to change it :B

Blaghman In reply to trezoid [2008-12-11 06:31:27 +0000 UTC]

the font, also the "think different" used by apple in the late 90s, as well as the simple look of it, which flows with the apple ads.

Blaghman In reply to Blaghman [2008-12-11 06:33:00 +0000 UTC]

then again, its me, so it could say "think something" have a completely unrelated font, and be filled with hundreds of different colours, and I'd still think of apple.

So minimalistic is now owned by apple. great.

Most graphic designers in the world are in trouble now

Blaghman In reply to trezoid [2008-12-11 06:34:18 +0000 UTC]

and yes, minimalistic has been owned by apple for 4 years now, didn't you see their patent applications?

trezoid In reply to Blaghman [2008-12-11 06:36:46 +0000 UTC]

I actually have some vague resemblance of a life...kinda...maybe.

I don't read patent apps

But they're so interesting, I saw this one a few weeks ago, it was great, it was detailing how Nokia was going to beat the touchscreen by having the sensor pick up finger movements in the air. Reading it was RIVETING. And anyway, now that I think about it, it wouldn't be a patent on that kind of ads, it would more likely just be ownership and copyright. Like how cadbury own the colour purple.

Your not allowed to EVER use the color purple. ever.

Someone might need to tell...everyone

"You're" not "Your". Dear god, Does everyone in the whole fecking world need to learn english? Seriously, it's a 2 key-press difference, it won't kill you. Geez.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

trezoid In reply to Blaghman [2008-12-13 04:50:19 +0000 UTC]

But those 2 key presses are all that is needed to type somewhere else

What if there was a bomb in my computer that went of after an exact amount of keystrokes. then it really WOULD kill me.

Also, at the time of writing, the apple video hosting servers have crashed and died. I find it ironic that they have a thing which says "spend to much time trying to get you PC to work? Get a mac" and yet they can't keep a video server stable.

The only reason I am on the apple site is to watch the TV ads so I can get even more enjoyment from seeing the mac dude get hit in the nuts with a spanner. twice.

I think you need to learn the difference between an actor, and a character. He could hate macs, for all you know, and he could just doing it cos of the money. Also, you typed a large number of words after that "Your" which debunks your argument about a bomb. Also, how can you know that its the mac video servers that have crashed, and not something else, as well as the fact that their servers most likely run linux anyway. And again, it's "too" not "to", learn how to quote.

still, its funny just 'cause.

Also, I happen to know they are running unix, so more then likely its Apple server, because that is a Unix based OS, and they do kinda make it.

Also, they have had the Apple.com domain since 1987, and have a perfect SEO score

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Blaghman In reply to trezoid [2008-12-15 05:54:39 +0000 UTC]

Yeah... unix, wow, only ummmm, ooooh, pretty much every browser that isn't windows is unix based. Actually, Apple is only unix based, its not a full unix system it deviates from the rules and molds of it slightly, so really if its a unix system itself, then chances are its linux... Also, what does the SEO score have to do with it? Wow, they're owned by apple, they can afford to spend cash on making their website viewed. Amazing.

Also, Steve Jobs supports Linux (in his own kinda way) when he owned pixar all their stuff was done on linux boxes, so just cos its apple doesn't mean its going to stop them using different OS'.

Owned by apple?

It IS apple.

They were just interesting facts.

And becides. Only OS's fairly close to unix show up as unix. That leaves Apple OS/x, Sun solaris, and Novel.

Linux OS's show up as the OS. For example Mozilla is using red hat. The ubuntu home page (ubuntu.com) is running on...surprise surprise: Ubuntu.

If you don't believe me, just use [link]

Its a good whois site.

Blaghman In reply to trezoid [2008-12-15 23:10:05 +0000 UTC]

The website is not apple, if apple were just a website they would make a pretty shitty company, think about it. Also, it most likely comesw up as Unix because apple has put a blocker on, it's not that hard to convince something that you're what you're not. For example, according to that website, DA is running on " "... Oh, but it is an apache... of some kind... w00000000.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

trezoid In reply to Blaghman [2008-12-15 23:38:16 +0000 UTC]

and google is magical, in that it doesn't use servers.

Ever thought that maybe dA is actually running on a custom base? they have the code knowledge to do so.

and even if they did have a mask on, how likely is it REALLY that the apple website would be running on sun solaris, or for that matter ANYTHING but OS/X server?

Seriously.

And more to the point, why would they want people to NOT know? do they not trust their own server OS enough to use it?

That would be the only reason for a mask.

Apple freely accept that they lie, in fact, they admitted openly that they lied in one of their ads, it is perfectly reasonable that they would run their servers using a form of linux, given that a linux based server need only be reset about once a year, whereas an apple one requires it once or twice a month. It is considerably more efficient for them to run it this way, and so requires less maintenance, and costs less. Apple would be spending significantly less on server maintenance than their rivals at microsoft, whose servers would need restarting approximately twice a week, if they wished to run them at optimal efficiency.

Just...

So a company actively admits they lie, but so many people take everything they say as the new bible.

I love advertising and consumer stupidity.
