when i was in high school, i was tutoring younger pupils in englisch and some other subjects and ... well ...
... things like these happened the whole day! ^^

hey, i was tutoring children german, too. and guess what?
"twenty, twenteen" happened almost the same way while teaching them german. "zwanzig, zwanzehn".
and there are sooo much more things, i can tell you about children learning german ...! many of these special failures can be tranfered in english without any need of translation ^^
