And now that I work in Nagoya, I see even moooore. Dammit, they are SO CUTE!!! All the adorable uniforms! And yes, some of the skirts are as short as you see in anime. It's really quite insane and unbelievable, and I have no idea how they never flash anyone. I guess they never sit down. Or something. But yeah. This comic only shows a small bit of the crazy squeeing that happens in my head when I see kids in uniforms. And at my new job, I actually get to TEACH kids in uniforms. WHOAAA.And even after over a year in a half in Japan, I still get giggly ^_^;;;
I'm such a sad person... ^_^;;;

Very few schools (and only private ones) have uniforms in Greece, so when I came to Australia I was like, 'omfg wtf is this do I really have to wear this?!'

Same with the US, though I think I'd have loved having a uniform since I was tired of having to pick out clothes for the day, since I wasn't popular and didn't look good in anything ^_^;;

They're so lucky they get cute uniforms! The ones in America are just ugly and not as nice (if you're not in a Private school), even though they say it's to prepare us for our future of getting used to wearing uniforms at our future jobs; apparently it looks like our future is working at McDonald's.

Those ones I get the most excited about, but only about half the schools still use sailor uniforms. Most use the vest and jacket or something similar but not exactly sailor uniforms. I think the middle schools tend to use sailor, but the high schools use something different ^_^

XD Everyone in my tour group was like that when I went to Japan and dear God help us if they saw kindergarteners in uniforms. The whole group including guys would go, they're so cute. I felt like I should have taught them kawaii just so the locals knew what in the hell they were saying at the very least. lol It's probably a good thing we were all Americans (...well and two Canadians) so they just expect us to be excitable.

We went past a school full of them twice once when they were going to school and then later when they were leaving. The little girls wore these straw hats that reminded me of Madeline, major cuteness.

Oh yes, the hats are common, but public schools tend to not have uniforms. Lucky you that you got to see them! ^___^
