now here's where mixed morality comes in. If I were Frisk, I would just go back to sleep. I wouldn't course Chara, because we've murdered together, but I couldn't trust sans despite being romantic and his best intentions.

I'm having so much mixt feelings right now, i ship Charisk so the potential for the both of them to be in a good relationship is very tempting.
Yet this is your story so you choose.
Here i think Sans did a very dirty trick , drugging Toriel's pie is like backstabbing in my opinion ,neither Frisk or Chara would expect something like that nor do it wich says how low this is, Chara seems to know everything about this Frisk's past, her fears, wich when you take it in acount gives him a great advantage .
Sans put himself in a bad situation with his ways to deal with Chara to "help" Frisk, canon Sans fears the resets wich is why i have an easy time believing Chara when he says that Sans want Frisk in control and under his "love" to make sure it will never reset again.
But both Chara and Sans are keeping things for themself , and to be honest i wouldn't bet on a winner , none of them is clearly better.
Sans not trusting Frisk and trying to 'murder' Chara despite how Frisk would hate that.
And Chara Keeping Frisk's body for himself when Frisk did nothing wrong , afterall the player, the anomaly forced Frisk into genocide , Chara just used that to get Frisk's body and soul wich i think is a good thing to remind, because it shows how Chara is , he claims having changed to regret doing this to Frisk yet , he still has most control over Frisk's body.

Thank you for the precise comment. You almost get the whole picture in my opinion.
Chara is good at telling the truths to support his opinion and using people's personality flaws and weakness, which can make him more influential and advantageous. Although Chara doesn't really know everything about Frisk, he knows her more than Sans does by far.
As for Sans, if the medicine functioned normally, it could have been the safest way to stop Chara and bring Frisk back. If it's hard to change a thing straight, sometimes we have to make the things right although it may be kind of dishonest in a way. This may be applied to Sans' case.
I agree with you when you talk about Chara's behavior. Yes, Chara has changed the way seeing and treating Frisk now, but it doesn't mean he entirely changes his personality, value, and the way he deals with things.

For Chara's changes if he had truly completly changed he would give Frisk her body back , because like i said it was not Frisk it was the player/the anomaly forcing Frisk to do this genocide run and Chara just took advantage of it.
He claims to have change , that he wants the best for Frisk yet, he still keeps HER body for himself , he knows Frisk , he Knows she would like him to be happy so i'm sure he knows she wouldn't mind sharing her body from time to time, so he could see his familly and interact with them, or perhaps he still has trust issue (wich is hard consedering she still forgave him when he stabbed her to take her soul)
I'm waiting for what is coming next, but i don't think it will end up that easily afterall Toriel and Asgore just learned Sans drugged their childs (yes childs since both Frisk and Chara got affected)

Before Chapter one, the player has given Frisk's soul to Chara. Technically, Chara is still the owner of Frisk's body but without LOVE power because Frisk has contracted it. So now the thing is more like Chara and Frisk are bonded together. They would argue about this later.
Chara has his own way to "help" Frisk, he also has issues with monsters' family. But one thing for sure by far is that Chara does care about Frisk, and there's another layer in his intention, which will reveal in the story.

Well Chara is not wrong:Using Toriel's pie for drug him was bad, knowing that Toriel is 1) Chara's mum 2) Sans best friend.
Sans had his reasons but he has acted in the wrong way, like Chara has.
In the same way, Chara seems really concerned about the relationship between Sans and Frisk, and he seems thought that Sans is bad for Frisk. And Sans, for Chara, has just proven his point here.

Well, in another way to say, this might have already been the safest way for Sans to stop Chara and bring Frisk back considering their situation. (If he used magic like in geno route, it would have hurt them even more)

Your story telling is already beautiful in the first chapter, now it astonishes and tears me apart even further in the second chapter on how you turn such a sweet love story into a truly serious soon to be possibly a tragedy due to the consequences resulted from both Sans’ hubris and Chara’s exploitation, that would eliminate the x between Sans and Frisk.

ooooooh~ Chara using the fear card?!? Welp, ya almost had a convincing argument, gal, then you just had to resort to your old controlling and abusive nature, didn't ya? I ain't saying that Sansy would be a much better option, given the deep set fear he will always carry with him. But no-one should have to live in that kinda one sided relationship.
