For and for those who haven't read the book yet.When I listened to the audiobook for HTTYD, I was surprised to find out that I liked Hiccup's voice better with David Tennant's VA. ^_^ I was inspired to speedpaint an event from each chapter of the book when I was looking through 's gallery, which is, by the way, totally awesome and worth looking at.
I've stumbled across an art block which I'm trying to get away from, and working on this picture certainly helped quite a bit. I'm planning to do the rest of the chapters (there's 19 total) to hopefully, completely cure the block, so expect more in the near future. XD
It was an entertaining to read--I mean, to listen, and I've listened to the whole book for the 3rd time. Now I can honestly say that I love the book as much as the movie.
Even though they're both really different in terms of plot and some of the characters, they each have their own special contribution that adds a new dimension to the heart of the story.

Yeah, I remember! Fishlegs had glasses and was something close to Hiccup's friend ... gosh, the film erased many of the things I've read in that book ^^ (I guess that's because of the impression pictures

I've been looking for book-fanart for HHTYD on DA for the longest time! Even though the movie was cool, I still like the book more (I thought the plot was better) and I disliked how as soon as the movie came out everyone became instant fans. I'm kind of sad to be left behind as a book fan more than a movie fan...
but anyway this is so great! I love how you drew fishlegs and hiccup, and the dragons are amazing. Great job :]

I love fishlegs and hiccup picture in the middle

I also listened to the audio book and I love David Tennant's voice as well, it made a lot more sense then the movie. Considering the movie everyone had a heavy accent except for the kids... yeah, I like Hiccup with an accident better.
I also kinda like book fishlegs better then movie fishlags, only because he gets more of the spot light in the books...
lastly, CameCaze would totally kick Astrids ass XD

This is really great!
I like the way you draw these scene of Isle of Berk, and the expressions of those characters!
And I especially love the first panel. The color of light is really beautiful!
After reading the book, I really wish I can also watch a version of the movie which is made based on the original story.
I never hear the audio book so I can't imagine what would it be.
But I heard that David Tennant had voiced a character in the movie.
(The one who looks very familiar to Snotlout)

It's no fun. X.X For me, art blocks result to laziness--I often just stare blankly into space during those times. XD So, I've practically slogged through finishing the illustrations.
I'm guessing that it was Spitelout who was voiced by Tennant? I've read that he was the village doctor, but the sources are questionable. ^_^
