To be fair, the comparison isnt really just, that one looks a lot like a painting, but I have seen auroras that look quite a bit like that.
Auroras comes in many shapes and forms, from the faint whispy ones you can hardly see to skyfillers that equal the full moon or even stronger.

It is more an occurance around the arctic circle, so the more north, or south you get the higher the chances of seeing it will be.

i see. in principle, this circle is above the area where the sun never goes down for a few nights around June 21, the so-called midnight. The further north you go the more nights are concerned. Otherwise, it is south of the circle phenomenon also experience a higher point.
In winter, the sun rises in the northern hemisphere in several nights around December 21 is no longer above the horizon north of the Arctic Circle. And here too: the further north the more days it concerns

It looks so unbelievably that I don't believe it's just a photo! I have never seen such sky, although I'd love to! But I still can't believe that Auora Polaris really exists

If you have never seen it yourself I can understand your disbelief, I sometimes do not quite beleive my own eyes when out capturing the aurora.
And thank you very much.
