Description
this was for a project for work that was canceled.First time doing a monster creature, but looking at it now, it could have been more original. Its basically a monster scorpion with an extending hidden opera mask face... with teeth.
i think i did a pretty good job while keeping it pretty low poly (2000 was my limit so...)
if i figure out how, i'll put up the animations later

Yep, Maticors are pretty much a different culmination of critters that just a scorpion (hell as I hate to admit it. Nice try though, good work with the character construction though. Nice UV layout as well.
Quote from wiki~
The manticore (Baricos in Greek) is a legendary creature similar to the Egyptian sphinx. It has the body of a red lion, a human head with three rows of sharp teeth (like a shark), and a trumpet-like voice. Other aspects of the creature vary from story to story. It may be horned, winged, or both. The tail is that of either a dragon or a scorpion, and it may shoot poisonous spines to either paralyze or kill its victims. The creature's feet may also be of a dragon.

it really does look like a scorpion, the defensive stance shows that very clearly
maybe you should've researched what a Manticore was, like the original story and characteristics
or maybe go into your imagination and break down the words and from there create an original form, abilities and character

You really shouldn't take names of artwork literally, this could be the artist own interpretation of a manticore.
It could be a fantasy creature with just the same name because it shares some of the characteristics.
Everything doesn't have to be spot on.

True enough, my reasons for making this comment previously is because I take things literally. I don't deviate from the "set in stone" unless prompted to, so to speak [type].
