VIDEO GAMES.Man, I love Castlevania. The thoughtful, deliberate pacing and punishing difficulty of the classic NES games? Super Castlevania 4? Bloodlines for the Genesis? Don't even get me started. Shit is INCREDIBLE. And of course I also appreciated the brisk exploration and freeform character customization of the post-SoTN games. Hell, I even liked Lords of Shadow. It was derivative, sure, but god DAMN was it ever pretty.
So imagine my excitement when I found out that Lords of Shadow 2 was actually going to let you play as Dracula. Like, they weren't copping out and having you play some other Belmont, or Alucard or whoever. Dracula. Final Boss. Fireballs and monologues and bats and shit.Β
And then THIS happened.Β

Yeah, I didn't like Lords of Shadow 2 either, the 1st Lords of Shadow was mixed for me, 1 Pro for Kojima, for good graphics, and voice acting and an impressive story, but underwhelming gameplay and boss fights, and mediocre characters, Lords of Shadow 2 never had those, everything about it just sucks.

There was other funny shit as well. Like that time he exploded a whole army, but we only saw from space and then at the end were he was about to kill Alucard possessed by the Devil and he made that slow motion yell.

Eh, fan service is always a thing. My bet is they only included it for the trailer. Still didn't detract from how awesomely fun the game was.
Now the stealth portions, those detracted from the enjoyment. That, I will say for sure.

...yeah I don't even know why they wanted to make the quote here.Β I mean, by now many of the old fans of the previous Castlevanias have probably moved on by now or if not probably aren't the greatest fans (not saying they don't like any of the Lords of Shadow games, but just that they probably have other Castlevanias they liked such as Castlevania IV or SOTN) of the series.Β I don't even know why they bothered to make this reference and pretty much have very little other references of the old games beyond having Trevor, Simon, Alucard, and I think Christopher Belmont.Β It just felt very forced.

I found it funny that his go to solution to defeating that giant robot was to barf blood lol. They missed some good "Fish out of water" moments with him in the modern world. He is told to attack someΒ pharmaceutical company and he's just like "whatever" if I was him I would try and figure out what the hell that even was first

I've gotta admit it was an interesting thing to do.
I'm guessing his blood is charged with shadow energies (him being Dracula and all) and the crystal was charged with light energy. The quickest way to disable the golem was to corrupt the crystal, turning it's energies to shadow, and make the machine go haywire. He needed to use blood to do that and the only way to get enough was the old 'finger in the throat' trick.
