Stab him through the arm so the duller part of the blade is facing up and just pull him up to safety, it'll hurt like hell but it's not as bad as being killed. Afterwords the guy should rip the shirt up and tie it around the wound so he doesn't bleed too much and get medical attention as soon as possible.Β

See this is what happens when you don't catch any big flying Pokemon like a Pidgeot or Charizard. Or hell you could probably even make due with the balloon Pokemon in this situation, if they can lift a small child and carry it away to who knows where then I'm sure it could lift you.Β
