Description

"Tercio" is a multi-purpose aircraft with long-range penetrating strike capabilities jointly developed by the international community. In 1959, Italy and Spain conducted joint research and development, but in 1963 the project ran into trouble due to economic reasons; in 1964, the Union of self-governing Federal Province (a fictional country) chose to join the project, which on the one hand brought more funds What's more, Federal Province has received a rare opportunity to participate in the heavy-duty supersonic project. The investment proportions of various countries in the project are: Italy 37.5%; USFP 37.5%; Spain 25%.
The Tercio eventually made its first flight in 1969 and was the first to enter service in Italy in 1973.
Tercio adopts a tailless delta wing layout and has a pair of non-full-motion canards. The central lift body and adjustable ramp inlet are suitable for supersonic flight while maintaining fuel economy.
There was no dedicated engine for the project, and the B.E.10 Olympus was ultimately chosen between the J75P13 and the B.E.10 Olympus.
Tercio has strong deep penetration ability. It has a combat radius of 2000KM when flying in a "high-low-low" plan while carrying 14,000 pounds of ammunition; it can fly at sea level when penetrating, and can sprint at a speed of Mach 2.5 at the end.
The Tercio of Italy and Spain can carry out source strikes against the military bases and supply centers of the communist regime in the Balkan Peninsula; more importantly, the sea-skimming Tercio combined with supersonic anti-ship missiles is almost completely unable to defend against the Soviet Black Sea Fleet.
The number of Tercios in Federal Province is not as high as planned. With the end of the Cultural Revolution and the death of Mao Zedong and the thawing of relations with Seoul, the Federal Province reduced the amount of Tercio it purchased.
