Is she an Alicorn? Nope
Why would the Pony who represents the Earth be an Alicorn? It never made sense to me. She's an Earth Princess! Is she plain looking? You bet! She's Earthy, so she doesn't need adornments
Is she free for everybody to use! Hell yes! Give me credit for her design please
Her story is that she's Aphrodite's twin sister. She can channel magic with her body and voice (she does a spirit dance and chants). Aphrodite and Gaia meet every Spring and combine their powers to bring new life to the Earth. By channeling Aphrodite's power, Gaia can make the magic global
Meaning she amplifies the Fertility magic Her cutie mark is a tree. Sorry if it's cliche, but it just works ^_^
I'm not sure what reception Gaia will receive, just be nice in the comments

I like the concept surrounding her. Are you going draw pictures of her with some sort of regal trappings, such as a crown of flowers or a wreath of some sort?

Norse mythology. The Marvel movie Thor (with Chris Hemsworth) has a rather modern depiction of it as (basically) the Universe with all the different realms (Jotunheim, Asgard, Earth...) joined by the branches of Yggdrasil.

Beautiful, just beautiful, and your ideas are really awesome. I freakin' love her colors, green and brown. I love the concept, and making her an earth pony type is certainly a departure from the norm when it comes to making a magical type of princess. Awesome!
