Charm isn't really one of the main characters (unlike agent Nihility), after this chapter the next time we'll see her will be when our mane2 visits Bons' family in Manehattan.

I have the hypothesis that most parents have a feeling about their baby's talent for some extent, and name their kid accordingly.

My question is, if e parents name the child for what they believe the talent would be, wouldn't Bon Bon's mother and father have named her after something having to do with their trade? Naming her after a candy carrier kind of jinks her into a different lifestyle.
With this in mind, maybe names are bestowed upon the child be someone else who knows their talent? Maybe it is that the doctors can predict and give name suggestions to the parents. Even so, if the names aren't accurate, would their talent not be the same? What I question is whether there is a pony who's name does not match their talent, for they grew up in another carrier choice.

Her father wanted to name her Petri Dish, but her mother wanted none of that. She looked at her baby and knew that she was her lil' Sweetie Drops. So I stand by the parental instinct hypothesis (which can sometimes seriously misfire). xD
Bons dropped that name though when she left Manehattan, and semi-officially took on the nickname that her lil' sis gave her way back then. "Bon" was actually Charm's first baby word, and she kept repeating it when around her big sis.

also the talent is probably not genetic, but rather something which is a product of social interaction, thus why siblings don't immediately have the same talent, but often have similarly related talents due to having the same upbringing.
