Anyway, you probably find my constant Symballad comments rather boring now so yeeeah.

Nah, it's quite entertaining tbh.
Besides, before I didn't even consider giving more spotlight to Ballad, now she has a significant role in chapter 7. And there may or may not will be extra pages featuring SymBallad (which will depend on how much time I have overall for the comic, so tho no clear promises, but the chance is there.) xD
Do you have anything in mind how they started? One idea in my mind features Ballad accidentally dropping a rather expensive instrument, BB getting angry and yelling at her for that (which was already referenced in ch5p03), Symph rising for her defense. Ballad is grateful, they start to spend some time together, getting closer bit by bit...

You are some kinda mind reader!! My HC for the comic is BB acting kind of rashly towards Ballad and Symphony being like "Leave her aloone she's just a kid" (in my HC Ballad is the youngest in the Ponyville guild by a few years) and Ballad being all "t-thank you" and Symphony being "No problem 
I base their attitude towards each other in the relationship as kind of a senpai-kohai thing.

Let's add even more depth to this: as you might have noticed, Symphony doesn't express much emotions usually (apart from stray ones slipping through from time to time). She wears a mask of indifference to keep herself from getting hurt again, distancing herself from everypony else (other than BB and Tavi, her fillihood friends).
Will Ballad be able to melt through the barrier of ice and warm her fragile heart? Will Symph open up and let her in? Find out in the next season of Symballad! *cue outro theme song*
Also, I recommend trying your hand in vectoring, it's actually rather easy to make show-quality graphics with that.
And based on that you can further develop a new style that you can call your own, which I'm doing right now. My human drawings are slowly reaching the level "decent-looking".

For some strange and unexplained reason, me and my gf seem to think that Symphony has a depressive or anxious disorder.
And in my headcanon outside the comic, she had a bad childhood with things such as seeing her father die and being hit across the face by her mother.
And for some other reason, in my hc Concerto is her brother XD

Well, in the comic's universe both her parents are alive, but never really payed much attention to their daughter. Their servants and maids also kept their distance, so she was very lonely when she wasn't with her best friends.
Concerto is rather old here (considering his age, he could be her father (but no, he isn't)). He joined the guild soon after the trio (Tavi, BB and Symph), leaving his post in the Canterlot Orchestra. The reason for this will be revealed later in the comic (no, it's not a particularly romantic one).
Otherwise, age-wise Tavi is as old as Lyra (young adult, about 19 yo in human age), Symph is one year older, Ballad is almost a year younger.
