I intended to finish this one a month ago, but life and a business trip (that I mostly regret in hindsight) happened. I'm afraid the next page will have to wait till the end of this month too, but then I hope to get back into making this more frequently.

I've looked through the mlpwiki page of characters ever occurred (about 2 years ago), the female-to-male ratio was more like 55%:45%. There's actually a ton of males, they are just in the background.

The trouble with background ponies is that you cannot really tell when they are meant to be there and when they are just there for the shot. Lyra and Bon Bon have so many clones (in the same scene) even in modern episodes it's not even funny. The lack of developed male characters with speaking lines is the reason they are ignored.
Plus it's not like it's impossible for one small hamlet to have a disparity of females. Appleooosa seems to have a larger than average male population, for instance.
